Era of The Great ARRahman

First of all,I would like to talk a bit about ARRahman's latest album Delhi 6.But let me say that I am not writing a review. There are already lot of reviews available on the net.
But as a person who has heard the songs in the album,I do feel that everybody needs to hear the songs, else, well,it will be a great miss.So I strongly recommend and request every body to have a look at the album. It's in two words 'Simply Amazing'.I can say, for the sheer variety of the songs in the album,it's 'Out of the world'...

I am not exaggerating if I say,A R Rahman's Delhi 6 is an absolute treat to the ears,it's supreme. As always when you hear the songs first time around, you will feel,oh,he slightly missed his very high standards this time around. But then when you hear the songs again,it just starts to grow on you and you want to hear the songs more and more. And each time,it's just pure magic, pure thrill. You will feel that here is a Music wizard at work,a master at work, doing ever so effortlessly what he does best.An absoute Genius who is toying with various combinations of sound, resulting in unbelievable ecstasy...

I have all the songs in my mobile and hears it whenever I can.Even after hearing it many times, each time you will feel some thing new.I suppose that's the case with all Rahman songs. There is some sort of a Divine Aura about his songs..
Among Music composers, there is Rahman, and then the rest.

Rahman's meteoric rise from the south Indian film music industry to bollywood and to the world over is an extraordinary fairytale .But it only speaks of his singe-minded dedication, hardwork, humility, versatality and innovativeness.Ever since his arrival with Roja he has revolutionised music,he has stormed the Industry. He has been the undisputed King of Indian Music from his first album onwards, which won the National Award. He has amazingly kept up the very high standards he set for himself in Roja, all through these years and has lived upto the expectations of his billions of fans. But then that's why the TIME Magazine called him 'The Mozart from Madras'.

He stands out from the other music directors, with his distinct style and immense grasp of the nuances of music.
When you hear a song, most of the time, you could instantly recognize if it's an ARRahman song. His style is soo unique and so energetic.

One cannot imagine what would have been the health of Indian Film music,if there was no Rahman. With his arrival only, music directors and indeed film directors started taking film music seriously,I mean music of a different kind. Not far in near future,Indian Film music will be categorised as pre-Rahman and post-Rahman era.It won't be too much if it's said that ARRahman's reign will called one of the Golden Periods of Indian Music.

After reading what I wrote above,if you think I have gone way over the top in heaping praise on Rahman, then I hope by now you would have recognized that I am one of the biggest fans of India's undisputed Music Composer,ARRAhman,The Legend.

I like him as a musician and I like him as a person, even though I have never met him.But what ever I have read and watched about him on TV,have given me an image about him which is truly Great.I have always admired his humble nature and the truthful nature in which he conducts himself during interviews and in public places. There is an aura about him that is so very soothing and charismatic. His face always give the impression of a Person who is very calm and serene and at peace with himself. He is sooo original and down to earth in the true sense of the word.

I also like his voice,it's haunting and sharp. He knows what sort of songs he can sing and chooses them so meticulously and renders them effortlessly.

ARRahman is a National Icon,no doubt about it.The joy he brings to all Indians and the pride we Indians feel by the laurels he is bringing to the Country are unmatched.
He is a staunch nationalist too,his patriotic songs are truly inspiring and everlasting.songs in Roja,Lagaan,The Legend Of Bhagat Singh etc to site a few instances. His album on the National Anthem was just awesome..

One cannot forget his thanks-giving speech at the Golden Globe Award ceremony. When all others were busy thanking their friends and family,ARRahman was thanking the billions of Indians..
It just shows what an amazing individual he is .The whole of India should be really proud that he was born in India and that he is one amongst us.And I do feel lucky that I am living in the same period.Full Stop.

One of the most beautiful quote on ARRahman which I have come across is :
"I had come to the music of AR Rahman through the emotional and haunting score of 'Bombay' and the wit and celebration of 'Lagaan'. But the more of AR's music I encountered the more I was to be amazed at the sheer diversity of styles: from swinging brass bands to triumphant anthems; from joyous pop to West-End musicals ('Bombay Dreams'). Whatever the style, AR Rahman's music always possesses a profound sense of humanity and spirit, qualities that inspire me the most." Baz Luhrmann, noted Film Director, Sydney (Australia), 14-July-2005.

ARRAHMAN is 'A R R A H M A N'.A gift from GOD to INDIA.That's it.
