The demand for seperate statehood

TRS Chief K.chandrashekara Rao's more than 10 day fast-unto-death struggle for a separate Telengana state:I don't think the Govt should give-in to this.Else this will become a trend.Tomorrow there could be hunger strike by some other little known politician for creating yet another new state, and finally India as a Country will be come a 'Tamasha';a joke!

Thackeray on Muslim becoming Indian PM

"It is not about what religion or community you come from, it is what you bring to the table, what capability you have.
Today, Manmohan Singh is not the Prime Minister of India because he is a Sikh. He is the Prime Minister because he is the most capable person to do the job," Rahul Gandhi had said during an interaction with students of the Aligarh Muslim University two days ago, when asked about how much time it will take for India to get its first Muslim Prime Minister.

As some sort of a reply to this Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray said in an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' that "Rahul is not the owner of the country. He should ensure that Muslims follow a common civil code, family planning, support Ram temple at Ayodhya and Vande Mataram is made compulsory for them. Only then a Muslim can become the PM" .

Mad man has has woken up once again!!
Rahul is not the owner of the country.Well, absolutely correct. And when Rahul is not the owner of the Country or of Indian Muslims, how can he make Muslims follow what Thackeray wanted them to follow??

Mr.Thackeray!! 'Hope you will get well soon'..

Bal Thackeray is also not the owner of India. How dare he say that a Muslim can become PM only if they follow things he wanted the Muslim community to do!!

First of all the question of a Muslim becoming PM itself is irrelevant. As Rahul said, irrespective of religion, region and other such parochial considerations,it's only capability that should matter.

Paki contradictions

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch has alleged that the United States and India were behind the series of terror attacks across Pakistan.

"There are proofs of US and Indian involvements in terrors activities in the country, but the rulers are bent on killing their own countrymen".

"War is no solution to problems and the government must hold talks with the Taliban for a durable peace in the country. Islam is a religion of peace and some elements are out to earn a bad name to it by carrying out such activities," he told media-persons after speaking at a convention of the party.

Now,what does this suggest!!

He says India and US are involved in terror activities in pak.In the same breath he says, paki government should hold talks with taliban for durable peace in pakistan!
How can there be durable peace,if it's India and the US that's disrupting peace??

Some contradiction there!

But then he is a pakistani, cannot expect more.

simply out of the world knock

Chief selector K Srikkanth on Thursday described Virender Sehwag's blistering unbeaten 284 (got out today on 293) in the third and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka as "simply out of the world knock" and said the flamboyant opener reminded him of West Indian batting great Vivian Richards.

"It was simply out of the world knock. The kind of shots he played was amazing. The way he was playing, it seemed he was playing an exhibition match, not a Test", Srikkanth said after the second day's play which saw India race to a record 443 for one in reply to Sri Lanka's 393.

The Chairman of the selection committee said he regarded Sehwag as one of the best batsmen in the world.

"He is one of the best batsmen in world cricket now. He reminds me of Vivian Richards. Apart from Richards, I dont think any body can demolish the bowling attack like Sehwag did today. It was really an entertaining knock", Srikkanth, a former India captain, said.

"The good thing about Sehwag is he backs himself. He has that confidence and self-belief. He brings about a lot of positive energy...Whenever he has played such knocks, India have gone to win the match", he said.

Has there ever been another like Sehwag?

Arguments about Muttiah Muralitharan's declining effectiveness can wait for another time. This was a day instead to marvel at the magnificence of a man who defies any sort of categorisation or pigeon-holing. Cricket is a non-contact sport, but watching Virender Sehwag bat is as visceral an experience as watching Muhammad Ali dominate the ring in his prime. On Thursday afternoon, Sehwag toyed with the greatest offspinner to play the game as though he were some glorified net bowler. He might as well have been, as India overhauled Sri Lanka's total of 393 in 67.5 overs. But for back spasms that restricted him to a more mortal scoring-rate in the last half hour, Sehwag might have become only the second batsman after Sir Donald Bradman to score 300 runs in a day.

Each monumental Sehwag innings has left a trail of destruction in its wake. At the MCG in 2003, it was Stuart MacGill's turn to look like a pie-thrower as he galloped to 195 in just five hours. In Multan, Shoaib Akhtar was reduced to feeble sledges. Sehwag's response was just to compare him to a beggar. In Chennai against the best Australian side ever, he careered to 155 on a pitch where few others had managed any sort of fluency. In front of the imposing Galle Fort last year, he dictated the course of a Test with an innings that combined absolute control and appetite for destruction with admirable restraint.

Has there ever been another like him? Matthew Hayden could pillage bowlers too, but his strike-rate looks pedestrian next to Sehwag's. Adam Gilchrist scored marginally quicker but how often did he have to face the new ball? Even the King, Sir Vivian Richards, never went after bowlers with such menacing intent, day in, day out.

Traditionally, bowlers have been the game-breakers, setting up victories with inspired spells that reduce sides from positions of comfort to misery. Sehwag scores at such a clip that he can transform a game in the same way. India batted only 79 overs on the second day. Yet they already lead by 50. Even if they feel like batting right through day three, the bowlers have all the time in the world to force a result.

Thursday's tour de force brought to mind a remarkable night in Kingston when Richards' hero, Smokin' Joe Frazier, was knocked down five times in the space of two rounds by the giant-fisted George Foreman. Boxing had never seen a puncher like Foreman, just as cricket has never seen a destroyer like Sehwag.

In cricketing terms, the only apt comparison would be with Gordon Greenidge at Lord's in 1984. On the final day of that Test, England thought they were in with a more than decent chance of victory. Today, Sri Lanka must have taken the new ball feeling fairly secure. On both occasions, the illusions were rudely shattered. Greenidge cut and drove with awesome power as 342 was reeled in from just 66.1 overs. His contribution was 214 from 241 balls. Quick by any standard, but nothing outrageous for someone who is batting's answer to Usain Bolt.

And to think that India started the day with survival on their minds. Sri Lanka's 393 looked decent enough on a pitch where the ball had turned from the first session. Surely, Murali and Rangana Herath would pose serious questions and be far more of a threat than they had been in Ahmedabad and Kanpur. That was conventional wisdom. When Sehwag's batting though, such logic is just bunkum.

At Multan just over five years ago, he pretty much ended the career of one very special offspinner, Saqlain Mushtaq. Saqlain had gone into that series speaking of a surprise ball, the teesra [the third one]. After much discussion in the media box, it was decided that it was the delivery that Sehwag kept whacking over midwicket for fours and sixes.

Virender Sehwag goes on the rampage, India v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Mumbai, 2nd day, December 3, 2009

Murali tried plenty of variations at the CCI, perhaps too many. One moment summed up the uneven nature of the contest. Sehwag was on 248 when Murali pitched one on middle stump. The response was a reverse paddle-sweep, a stroke that few could have imagined leave alone seen. As the ball sped to the rope, past where conventional slip might have stood, Murali just half-flinched and looked away.

Even as fatigue took over, the level of improvisation didn't drop. Spotting a slower one from Angelo Mathews, Sehwag quickly decided that a booming drive wasn't the answer. A deftly angled bat and the ball raced away past the vacant first-slip position. For Kumar Sangakkara, the man entrusted with the task of stopping a deluge with a teacup, that was the quintessential dilemma. When remotely attacking fields were set, Sehwag just shifted his feet and cleared the infield with an ease that bordered on contempt. When the fielders then fanned out, he was free to pick gaps at will.

Each time he went aerial, the crowd in the stands appeared to jump as high. It wasn't just bedlam though. Time after time, people turned to those standing next to them, looking bemused. Each expression said the same thing: 'Did you see THAT?'

Murali Vijay and Rahul Dravid deserve immense praise for the manner in which they managed the situation. When a man's in such prime form, you need to give him as much of the strike as possible, while making sure that you don't leave the entire run-making burden on his shoulders. Vijay played a superb innings till his little brain fade, and the manner in which he was prepared to take on even Murali said much about his state of mind.

As for Dravid, is there a more calming sight in the game than him taking guard? When not defending with the straightest of bats or watching the carnage from the other end, he played some beautiful strokes, especially in the cover-point region. No one's likely to remember them though, blinded as they were by Sehwag's dazzle.

There were a couple of near escapes at the end, with a tired heave off Murali flying to third man, and a thick outside edge off Tillakaratne Dilshan evading both Jayawardenes, Prasanna and Mahela. Those were mere dust motes on a pretty perfect picture though. By the close Sehwag had struck 40 fours and seven sixes, and taken an astonishing 78 from the 70 balls that Murali bowled to him. Only Brian Lara, back in that halycon series of 2001, treated him with such disdain. But at least then Murali was picking up wickets by the bushel at the other end.

Sehwag's energy levels are remarkable for a man who's hardly the most svelte figure in the game. This was his 12th knock in excess of 150, and the way he paces himself is exceptional. On Thursday, he didn't just have to contend with the sun beating down, but also with extreme humidity. The Arabian Sea is just a six-hit away, but instead of losing focus he only made sure that Sri Lanka lost theirs. "It's not fat," said a friend later. "It's batting muscle."

Sri Lanka were so demoralised by the end of the day that it was hard to fathom a route back into the match. When Chanaka Welegedara went off injured with Sehwag in sight of his double-century, the ball was thrown to Nuwan Kulasekara. A cut, flick, glance and midwicket-thump later, he looked ready to cry. As he walked back to his fielding position, he looked every inch the man who'd been asked to take his mate's place in solitary confinement.

Sehwag now has five of the 10 fastest double-centuries in history, including three of the first four. This though is a man utterly insouciant when it comes to such landmarks. He could well go on to obliterate Lara's record tomorrow. He certainly has a great chance to put even Bradman in the shade and score a third triple. None of those possibilities is likely to make him lose sleep though. For someone who has reduced batting to its most elemental, only the next ball matters. If it's there to be hit, regardless of whether he's on 299 or 399, he'll go for it. Which is precisely why it's such a bloody privilege to watch him play. Those that passed up a chance to come to Churchgate on Thursday would be best off reading the Mishima guide to seppuku.

Article taken from CricInfo.Author S Aga.

Even though, when I posted this Sehwag had already got out for 293 and could not complete his 3rd triple ton,I just thought I will just reproduce this here as a tribute to Sehwag's batting yesterday.

Attack on CNN-IBN offices

Strongly condemning the attack and vandalism of the offices of Hindi and Marathi TV news channels IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat in Mumbai and Pune on Friday by shiv sena for what they said was criticism of the party and its chief Bal Thackeray after his recent comments against cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil on Friday night said the government was committed to protecting journalists.

"It is the responsibility of all to ensure the freedom of the media in a democracy and if some parties are acting contrary to this, the government will initiate stringent measures" Patil told reporters.

Describing the attack as 'a cowardly act', the home minister said those who were behind it will not be spared.

ha ha hi hi..
Nice Joke..!!
"Government will initiate stringent measures"..!!! :D
"committed to protecting journalists"...!!

Well,Maharastra has seen many attacks and taliban-style vandalism by shiv sena and MNS.Not heard till now,any of their leaders getting punished.

Also, the less said about Mr.R R Patil, the better. He was Home Minister when Mumbai was attached on 26/11 and he was made to resign after some very insensitive comments about the attack. He was also a total failure.

Now,after the Congress-NCP combine came back to power,he is again made Home Minister...!!!
That's how much Congress-NCP Govt care for the people..$#%^&*

Any way,nothing much to say...hmm

As a closing comment :It seems shiv sena attacked IBN offices because IBN criticized Bal Thackeray..!!
Well,then here we go :

Bal Thackeray is a PIG..
He has done nothing right in his entire life to deserve any thing other than ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT..
He is an anti-national heading a party, that should be banned, for trying to destroy the federal nature of our Country..
All those who love our Country should isolate and eliminate such goons from our society..

Nobel Prize for dirt and filth

“I think our cities have the dubious distinction of being the dirtiest cities in the world. There is no doubt about it. But if there is a Nobel Prize for dirt and filth, India will win it hands down. There is no competition for that and we have to do something dramatic on municipal solid waste,” Environment minister Jairam Ramesh was quoted as saying in a function to release a report ‘Green India 2047’ by The Energy Research Institute (TERI).

Well, very candid and we can say he indeed has a point there. We are not known worldwide for our cleanliness. But to say that we deserve a Nobel Prize for dirt and filth,is to stretch it a bit too far.The situation is not that bad...!!

He is the environmental minister, what has he done till now to improve the situation??
Not heard any major initiatives from him on this front.

Also,as a person who belongs to a party that has ruled India for most of the time post-independence,he should be the last person to say this. Why did his party not implemented strict laws to ensure that those who ,let me say for example, spit on road are given a fine or some sort of punishment?

Fear of getting punished can dissuade people from throwing filth on roads and other public places.

Any way,it's atleast nice that Jairam Ramesh is thinking about our cleanliness behavior.Let him,as the environment minister, comes up with plans to clean up our Country.I am sure that people will support him,if he is sincere.

Sachin Vs Thakeray

This post is in the context of Shiv Sena Leader Bal Thakeray's criticism of Sachin Tendulkar.

What is Sachin's fault??

In an interview, when some journalist asked some question,he merely answered very innocently that "Mumbai belongs to India.I am a Maharastrian and I am extremely proud of it.But I am an Indian first".

Perfect.Absolutely correct.

What's wrong with these statements??

What's wrong in saying that Mumbai belongs to India..!!
Is Mumbai belonging to pakistan?? Or to pakistanis?? or to Chinese??
Or is it a private property of Mr Bal Fool-keray??
Has he got it as dowry??

What is Bal's claim on Mumbai? He and his goonda party and his cousin and his goonda party behaves as if they are owners of Mumbai and Maharastra..!!

It's very clear that these idiots are doing all these to get some cheap third-rate votes..

Even though they got badly beaten by the electorate, they still don't learn their lessons..!!

These Thackrey goons and their parties ,shiv sena and MNS are as dangerous to our nation as pakistani terrorists..

Aim of both of them is to divide India..

Now coming back to Sachin,he is a National icon.Respected not only in Maharastra, but also loved and respected by each and every Nationalist Indians. He,infact is loved and admired throughout the world.

He does not need a certificate from a Goonda leader..

Sachin is well-mannered,humble,deeply patriotic and perhaps the greatest living Indian. He has made every Indian proud by his deeds and his words and the way he conducts himself. He is hailed as the best batsman in the world.

And who is Bal Thakeray?
He is a regional monster, sitting in his small well. What is the contribution of he and his family to Maharastra and India? RIOTS,religious tensions,parochialism,beating-up innocent Indians, destroying public property etc..
He is the modern day Bhasmasura..
He could not even hold his family together..
And he claims to talk for the whole of Maharastra..
Whom is he trying to fool?

His positive contribution to Maharastra and India is a BIG ZERO.

He thinks he is a very big person and that every body should respect his madness and follow his orders.

Phew..
He is a worm..A parasite, which tries to grow on innocent peoples blood..
To hell with Mr.Bal Thakeray and his goonda family..

His name itself should be uttered with contempt and his place in this world is in the Dustbin..
He is such a waste..
A useless fool..

Instead of criticising Sachin for saying that "I am an Indian first",Mr Thakeray should lick Sachin's boots..

One would have thought that at this age he would retire from his dirty acts and take some rest and allow his son Udhav and his cousin Raj to take forward his legacy of dirty divide-and-rule activities.

But he seems to be an age-less wonder in the world of ugly politics.

Surely we all could expect more waste material from his mouth in future also..!

Tributes pouring in

Some of the world’s greatest cricketers have heaped encomiums on Sachin Tendulkar as he reaches another milestone in his career with former Australian skipper Steve Waugh paying him the ultimate tribute by calling him the “Bradman of our times”.

“The last time I watched Sachin was last week when he was on his way to a spectacular 175 and once again I felt that I was watching a player who comes but once in a century. It can be said that he is the Bradman of our times and I do feel privileged to have played a lot of cricket against him,” Waugh said in his tribute.

Considered a ruthless and aggressive captain, Waugh said even he had a nightmarish time setting his fielders whenever Tendulkar marched to the crease.

“Sachin always brought with him an amazing sporting presence. It was a captain’s nightmare to set a field for him when he was in full flow. It was akin to getting stuck in a tornado — the noise made it impossible to communicate with the fielders.

“The bowlers looked demoralised and you could sense that Sachin himself was delighted at the disarray he created in the opposition. Whether in India or elsewhere, there were always enough fans to create a deafening din whenever he was at his best,” he said in an article.

The man who called sledging mental disintegration, Waugh said the tactic never really worked in Tendulkar’s case.

“Sachin rarely got into verbal duels and soon we too realised that sledging him only strengthens his concentration and resolve. No wonder then that some of the most talkative Australians went quiet when Sachin was in the middle.”

Waugh also lauded the way Tendulkar conducted himself off the field and said he admired the composure with which the Indian handled expectations of a cricket-mad nation.

“His innate decency as always shone through his ruthlessness on the field. For most of his career, he has wanted to dominate the bowlers and stamp his supremacy on the opposition. He has always conducted himself exceptionally in public light which must not be easy.

Former West Indies captain and batting legend Vivian Richards said there are few better role models in modern cricket than Tendulkar.

“...when he is in full flow, the mild-mannered boyish cricketer can look extremely intimidating. If there is a resonance, I find of myself in his batting, it is in that intent that he communicates,” Richards said.

Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan said Tendulkar is way ahead of contemporaries like Inzamam-ul-Haq when it comes to keeping himself focussed on the game.

“Over the years Sachin has remained remarkably consistent and has more records than anybody I can remember. His talent and versatility are unquestioned which is why the only question that rankles is why he did not win enough games for his team?

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly said Tendulkar’s ability to adapt to the varying conditions was his biggest strength.

“His biggest strength as a batsman is his adaptability. And that is something really, really amazing, something so special,” he said.

Former Pakistan captain and batting great Javed Miandad said he always advises youngsters to follow in the footsteps of Tendulkar.

Former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir, whose duel with a young Tendulkar in an ODI at Peshawar in the 1989 series is part of cricketing folklore, said the champion batsman was far from finished and would continue to break many more records.

“I think Tendulkar has outdone all the other greats with his hunger for the game, which is amazing,” Qadir said.

Tendulkar hit Qadir for three sixes in an over in the Peshawar game at a time when the leg-spinner was at his peak.

“That was a time when I was at my best and even the best batsmen had second thoughts coming out to hit me. I remember I kept on goading him to hit me and he took the challenge and came down to strike me cleanly. It was amazing. I knew instantly this was someone special,” he recalled.

Inzamam said Tendulkar was a gentleman personified who never allowed fame to get over him. “What has impressed me the most about Tendulkar all these years is his humble and simple nature. I never saw him ever let the fame and adulation he enjoys get to his head,” Inzamam said.

Muralitharan's tribute to Sachin

“You only get to see one Tendulkar in a lifetime. In the next 100 years, you will not witness another Tendulkar. He is once-in-a-century-player,” said international cricket’s most successful bowler Muttiah Muralitharan. The Sri Lankan player said this as a tribute to Sachin on completing 20 years in International arena.

Tendulkar greatest batsman of my generation

Paying tribute to Sachin Tendulkar on his reaching the milestone of 20 years in international cricket, former India captain Sourav
Ganguly on Saturday described the Mumbai maestro as the greatest batsman of his generation.

"Probably Sachin is the best batsman I have seen. He just amazes me. He just keeps going on and on. We hope he carries on some more years," Ganguly, who was Tendulkar's one-time opening ODI partner, said.

"It's not just about talent but it's how you use talent that makes you special. There have been a lot of players who had talents but they have not continued for a long time and that's what makes Sachin special. He uses his talent to the most," said Ganguly.

Congratulating Tendulkar, who will complete 20 years of international cricket on Sunday, Ganguly said, "First I want to congratulate him on completing 20 years in international cricket which is phenomenal. Starting at the age of 16 and going on to play for 20 years with this intensity is unbelievable."

Having featured in more than 400 matches with Tendulkar, Ganguly said he had scores of memories with the Mumbai batsman since they met in Indore during a U-15 national camp.

"I have got a lot of memories. I met him for the first time in 1987-88. I had heard a lot about him. From the day one, I knew he was special," Ganguly said.

pakistan should go to UN

Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif has asked Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to take the issue of India's alleged involvement in fanning insurgency in Balochistan to the United Nations.

Addressing a press conference after discussing the proposed Balochistan package with Gilani, Sharif said he was informed during the meeting that Islamabad has evidence regarding New Delhi's hand in the Baloch unrest.

"We were told in the meeting that it was confirmed that India was involved in the Balochistan unrest. It is unfortunate that India is interfering in fomenting unrest in Pakistan," The Nation quoted Sharif as saying.

Sharif said he has advised Gilani to table the evidence, regarding India's terror policy, in front of the international community, including the UN.

It would have been very nice,if India was doing atleast 10% of what pakistan claims Indian Intelligence agencies are doing inside pakistan, for all that the pakis are doing to India.Unfortunately,India is unable or unwilling or is incapable of 'hitting below the belt'.

Mr.Nawaz Sharif, who was exiled to Saudi Arabia by Musharaff, and got back to pak only after America and Saudi Arabia made a deal with Musharaff and Yousuf Raza Gilani, who is a baffon along with pak interior joker Rahman Malik, indeed are cracking some great 'Third rate jokes'.

Wonder, whether pakistani citizens themselves are believing all these junks.
Any way let's go to UN.. :D

China's nuclear proliferation

Reproducing below an article from rediff:

China provided Pakistan with a 'do-it-yourself' kit and weapons grade uranium for making two nuclear bombs in 1982, a leading American daily said on Friday quoting notes made by disgraced Pakistani scientist A Q Khan.

The Washington Post said the deliberate act of proliferation was part of a secret nuclear deal struck in 1976 between Chinese leader Mao Zedong and Pakistan's then Prime Minister Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto.

'Upon my personal request, the Chinese minister had gifted us 50 kg weapon-grade enriched uranium, enough for two weapons,' Khan wrote in a previously undisclosed 11-page narrative of the Pakistani bomb programme.

Khan prepared the notes for Pakistan's intelligence after his January 2004 detention for unauthorised nuclear commerce, the daily said.

The Post said it obtained Khan's detailed accounts from Simon Henderson, a former Financial Times journalist who is now a senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and who has maintained correspondence with Khan.

In a first-person account about his contacts with Khan in the September 20 edition of the Sunday Times, Henderson disclosed several excerpts from one of the documents.

According to Khan, the daily said, the uranium cargo came with a blueprint for a simple weapon that China had already tested, supplying a virtual do-it-yourself kit that significantly speeded Pakistan's bomb effort.

The transfer also started a chain of proliferation: US officials worry that Khan later shared related Chinese design information with Iran, in 2003, Libya confirmed obtaining it from Khan's clandestine network.

'The Chinese gave us drawings of the nuclear weapon, gave us 50 kg enriched uranium,' Khan said in a separate account sent to his wife several months earlier.

Khan said he and two other Pakistani officials -- including then-Foreign Secretary Agha Shahi, since deceased -- worked out the details when they traveled to Beijing later that year for Mao's funeral, the daily said.

'Over several days, Khan said, he briefed three top Chinese nuclear weapons officials -- Liu Wei, Li Jue and Jiang Shengjie -- on how the European-designed centrifuges could swiftly aid China's lagging uranium-enrichment programme. China's Foreign Ministry did not respond to questions about the officials' roles,' it said.

'Chinese experts started coming regularly to learn the whole technology' from Pakistan, Khan states, staying in a guesthouse built for them at his centrifuge research centre.

Pakistani experts were dispatched to Hanzhong in central China, where they helped 'put up a centrifuge plant', Khan said in an account he gave to his wife after coming under government pressure, the newspaper said.

'We sent 135 C-130 plane loads of machines, inverters, valves, flow meters, pressure gauges,' Khan wrote, according to the documents accessed by The Post.

'Our teams stayed there for weeks to help and their teams stayed here for weeks at a time,' he said.

In return, The Post said, China sent Pakistan 15 tons of uranium hexafluoride (UF6), a feedstock for Pakistan's centrifuges that Khan's colleagues were having difficulty producing on their own.
Khan said the gas enabled the laboratory to begin producing bomb-grade uranium in 1982.

Sachin's slap for MNS,Shiv Sena Parochialism

"Mumbai belongs to India. That is how I look at it. And I am a Maharashtrian and I am extremely proud of that but I am an Indian first," said Tendulkar responding to a specific query at a media meet in New Delhi on the eve of completing 20 years in international cricket.

Coming from Sachin, who is the greatest living Mumbaikar, this should be a shock to the goons of Raj Thackrey and Bal Thackrey.

As Sachin said, for Indians,it should always be India First.

Maoists getting arms from China

India for the first time has said that the Maoists are getting arms from China, which is a "big supplier" of small weapons.

"Chinese are big smugglers... suppliers of small arms. I am sure that the Maoists also get them," Home Secretary G K Pillai said when asked if the Naxals were having links with China.

Funny,But Thought Provoking

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know."

A Known Fact : Official Support For Terror

Pakistan's Consul General in Chicago personally knew both David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, nabbed by the FBI for planning to carry out a major terror attack in India at the behest of LeT, the US authorities have claimed.

"On or about September 25, 2009, Rana spoke by telephone with the Consul General at the Pakistani Consulate in Chicago in an effort to obtain a five-year visa for Headley to travel to Pakistan.

Congrats to Indian agencies :)

Pak Interior Minister Rehman Malik has once again claimed that India is fomenting unrest within Pakistan through steps such as funding Taliban fighters based along the border with Afghanistan.

Asked during an interview to a TV news channel as to who was backing the Taliban, he said: "There are certain hostile elements against Pakistan and there are certain hostile agencies which do not want Pakistan to be (stabilised)."

In response to a question on whether India is among the hostile agencies, Malik said, "Yes, of course, I am convinced. I have no doubt about it. I was very open. I have given the full details.

"If the interior minister of India or anyone else wants to confront me, I will be very happy to confront them because I know what I am saying," he added.

Malik had said last week that Pakistan has "solid evidence" of India's alleged involvement in fomenting unrest in Balochistan province and this can be shared with Indian ministers or representatives at any forum of their choice.

"I invite their interior minister or anyone else (to come to Pakistan) and I will put on record all the material about India's interference in Balochistan. I'll prove it to the world," he had said.

We,Indians,should all be proud..!!
pakistan created taliban.taliban consists mainly of pak madrassa educated terrorists.
With all these facts if it's India who has has managed to turn pak taliban to attack pak, then it's a great achievement for India..!!!

Mr.Malik says "I have given the full details".
You gave full details to your mother and wife ? or to your uncle?
The doubt is because,no one other than you have seen these details :D

He also says "I'll prove it to the world".

Please do it sir,the world is listening to each and every drop of your sound waves with bated breath.

Even though pakistan always had a rich variety of jokers,Mr.Rehman Malik should be JOKER NO.1.

His jokes on taliban,LeT,unrest in Balochistan are simply outstanding..

May this joker continues joking..!!

Height of Duplicity

“I am not opposed to any language but I insist on Marathi. We should speak Marathi now instead of blaming the future generations.”.This statement is coming from a man whose son ,reportedly,is studying in an English Medium School..!!

And this man is none other than Raj Thackeray...!!

Bal Thackeray's continued experiments with "untruth"

Shiv Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray attributed the party's poor show in assembly polls in Maharashtra to the young generation's ignorance about the ‘travails’ it went through for the state.

"The young generation is stranger to the history of Maharashtra and the Sena's fight for Marathi cause. They have ruined Marathi unity in just a day," Thackeray said in an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

"The 105 martyrs of Samyukta Maharashtra movement would feel the grief of Sena's defeat because they know what hardship Sena has gone through for Marathi people. Youths are not aware of it," Thackeray said.

Blaming the youth for voting out Sena, Thackeray said "they do not know the power of saffron flag and history has repeated as Marathas lost the Battle of Panipat due to traitors," he said.

Hope his son Udhav Thackeray will admit Bal Thackeray in a good mental hospital and let's hope 'he gets well soon".. "D

Bal Thackeray's Lame Excuses For The Deserving Defeat

Stunned by his party's third consecutive defeat at the hustings, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray Friday blamed the people of Maharashtra for 'pushing the state back into hell' by re-electing the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine.

In an editorial in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna, which expressed the party's shock and anguish over its rout in the 2009 assembly polls, the Sena chief and the newspaper's editor wondered what were the great achievements of the Democratic Front government in the past 10 years that made people to vote for it.

'There was corruption, load-shedding, Maoist terror which killed policemen, suicides of thousands of farmers, Mumbai terror attacks, etc,' Thackeray noted in the editorial.

The results of the assembly elections held Oct 13 gave the Congress 82 seats and the NCP 62 -- totalling 144 in the 288-member assembly. The opposition alliance got a drubbing with only 90 seats, the Shiv Sena getting 44 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 46. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) got 13 seats.

Thackeray blamed the people for the defeat of the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saffron alliance and for bringing back a 'naalayak' (useless) government.

Comparing the latest elections to the Mahabharata, in which truth had triumphed, Thackeray said the only difference was that in this electoral Mahabharat the Kauravas (untruth) had emerged victorious.

'If the people re-elect the Narakasura for the third consecutive time, what can we say,' he said.

He hit out at the Congress for adopting the old British policy of divide and rule and said the party had split Marathi votes to capture power.

It did not spare even the independents, rebels and the Third Front who were hoping to make it big in case of a hung assembly, the editorial said. In many cases, it seemed to aid the defeat of good candidates, with the hope that it would benefit in the ensuing 'horse-trading'.

'Unfortunately for them, since the Congress-NCP has secured a clear majority, the horses (of this lot of independents, rebels, etc) shall remain in the stables,' Thackeray pointed out sarcastically.

He even ticked off Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athavale, who led the 19-party Republican Left Democratic Front (RLDF). Many of the parties could not win a single seat in the Oct 13 elections.
Report from Yahoo News Portal.

By and large ,the people of Maharastra knows what's good and what's bad for them.
Majority of those who have voted have rejected the sectarian, violent, parochial, goonda politics of the shiv sena and MNS.That's it.That's the meaning of the verdict.Full stop..!!

Mr Thackeray says there was corruption, load-shedding,blah blah and blah, during the last 10 years of the Congress-NCP rule.Who is denying this.Only point is,was the shiv sena-BJP Government, earlier, any better??

People of Maharastra decided to continue with the current setup because they might have thought that shiv sena and BJP, which is reeling under internal contradictions, will govern worse,if given a chance..!!

He should be ashamed of himself to say about the so-called "old British policy of divide and rule" in the context of the election defeat. He wanted to install his son as the sena chief over the more acceptable (in shiv sena) Raj Thackeray and this resulted in the family fight. To blame others for the breakup in his family and his core voters is a bit funny :|

Show some spine and accept defeat gracefully..

Good terrorists bad terrorists

certain elements within the Pakistani establishment still make a distinction between 'good terrorist and bad terrorist,' Minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor said Pakistan should fight militancy in any form.

"The good terrorists are the guys who kill Indians in India and the bad terrorists are those who attack Pakistani interests whether in Afghanistan or in Pakistan," he said.

"In other words, you blow up the Taj Mahal hotel you're a good guy, you blow up the Marriot in Islamabad you're a bad guy," he told CNN.

Read below an interesting news article in dailytimes :

pakistani punjab governor salmaan taseer on Tuesday condemned the suicide bombings at the International Islamic University in Islamabad and expressed concern over the loss of precious lives in the incident. He said the attackers were not followers of Islam and had nothing to do with humanity. taseer said such inhuman acts would not deter the government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism.

So as per pakis,if pak trained terrorists attack pakistan itself, they are not followers of Islam and are bad terrorists. But if they attack India, they are 'Holy Warriors' or good terrorists...!!

As long as pak continue to train, finance terrorists to pump into India,Afghanistan and to other parts of the world, these same terrorists will turn against pak as well.

pakistan should get a taste of their own medicine..!!!

Truth is Bitter

After repeatedly expressing suspicion over Indian role in the South Waziristan insurgency, Pakistan has finally admitted that it has found "no concrete evidence" to establish the Indian angle.

The News quoted Director General of Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Athar Abbas, as saying that no truckload of Indian weapons were found in South Waziristan to provide any concrete evidence.

Interesting Article in Times of India on Indian Assistance to Afghanistan

The Obama administration has given a thumbs-up to India's developmental work in Afghanistan, rejecting Islamabad’s complaints that New Delhi's activities there are detrimental to Pakistan’s security.

"I don't see how helping Afghanistan develop its economy and its infrastructure could be seen as a security threat to any other country in the region," State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said on Monday when asked about Pakistan’s persistent protests on the matter.

"On the contrary, a stable and more prosperous Afghanistan is only going to contribute to regional stability," Kelly added, as Washington continued its efforts to address Pakistani fears on the issue that some experts say prevents Islamabad from fully disengaging from terrorist proxies such as Taliban and other militant elements it uses to counter India.

India has invested nearly $1.5 billion in developmental and infrastructure works in Afghanistan, including building roads, hospitals, schools, and the Afghan Parliament building. The effort, which is widely seen as a sharp contrast to Pakistan’s export to that country of Taliban and terrorism, has drawn universal praise. But Pakistan sees it as a pernicious Indian attempt to outflank it and counter its effort to gain strategic depth against India.

From all accounts, Islamabad is yet to accept US counsel that it is not India or Indian influence in Afghanistan that poses an existential threat to Pakistan, but its own terrorist proxies it has nurtured for decades to keep India off-balance. That policy has now begun to bite Pakistan, judging by the serial terrorist attacks in the country by its home-grown terrorist groups.

The Pakistani case for strategic depth in the region has also been considerably undermined, now that is accused of fostering terrorism by at least three surrounding countries – India, Afghanistan, and more recently, Iran.

But in an oblique warning to New Delhi delivered in the US earlier this month, Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi insisted that Indians would ''have to justify their interest'' in Afghanistan and their ''level of engagement (in Kabul) has to be commensurate with'' the fact that ''they do not share a border with Afghanistan, whereas (Pakistan) we do.'' A second bomb attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul followed four days later.

The Obama administration has repeatedly shot down Islamabad’s claims of strategic interest in Afghanistan, including what US officials say are wildly exaggerated claims of Indian consulates and personnel on the Afghan border with Pakistan. The US pointman on Af-Pak Richard Holbrooke, among others, scoffed at Pakistani accounts of India's allegedly subversive activity from Afghanistan.

In fact, the Indian effort also came for praise in Gen.Stanley McChrystal’s report on the Af-Pak theater, although he warned of possible complications in the region because of possible Pakistani counter-measures in the face of increasing Indian influence. ''While Indian activities largely benefit the Afghan people, increasing Indian influence in Afghanistan is likely to exacerbate regional tensions and encourage Pakistani countermeasures in Afghanistan or India,'' McChrystal said.

But Pakistani interpretation of the report is that McChrystal has criticized Indian presence and virtually asked New Delhi to withdraw from the Afghanistan -- a self-serving narrative that Kelly pretty much shot down on Monday. Indian officials too have told TOI that at no stage has Washington asked New Delhi to downsize or change its work profile in Afghanistan. On the contrary, there has been appreciation for the Indian policy of winning hearts and minds in Afghanistan, which the U.S is also now trying to adopt.

However, in a subtle message to New Delhi, Kelly said ''the main thing is that we all conduct this in full transparency, that any side that is contributing towards the reconstruction of Afghanistan, that we do so in a cooperative way, that we share as much information as possible.'' The sub-text – India should reassure Pakistan on the matter and take it on board if possible.

Latest American Discovery

A top Obama aide on Sunday said the Al Qaeda is based in Pakistan and that the United States would 'not rush' in finalising the new strategy on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"This is where Al Qaida is based. Not just in Afghanistan, it's clear that they're based in Pakistan," Rahm Emanuel, the White House Chief of Staff, told the CNN in an interview.

After a lot of analysis, research, predictions, calculations and by shear luck America,it seems haS finally "DISCOVERED" that Al Qaeda is based in Pakistan..!

WOW..

Hard Harder Hardest for Obama

"Iraq was hard. Afghanistan is harder. There are -- really are people out there who would be happy to blow up this room, wouldn't bat an eye. And we've got to deal with those folks," American President Obama said at a fund-raising reception in San Francisco in California.

Afghanistan will continue to be 'harder',infact it's going to be worst,if your administration continue to trust pakistan to help you in your war against terrorism..

Business World Front page picture

Believe it or not,as you can see,the above picture is the cover page of the much respected business magazine, the 'Business World'.
Why on earth a magazine like BW had such a picture as its front page in the september2009 edition is a mystery.
Are they trying to increase readership?

Any way it's a cheap gimmick, that's all I have to say.
I was shocked when I saw the magazine cover.
It looked more like a gossip magazine front page .
People,I believe, buy magazines like BW to read some serious stuff.
A front page like this will make some feel uncomfortable buying it.

Noble Prize Farce

An American president who is only an year or so in office, getting Noble Prize for peace is amusing to say the least.

America is at war in Iraq and Afghanistan.CIA,America's dreaded intelligence agency is engaged in covert and treacherous operations all over the world.

Obama it seems got noble prize because he wanted elimination of nuclear weapons from the world.

Well,America has the largest stockpiles of weapons in the world. All these talk of a non-nuclear world is rubbish,as long as America continues to keep and increase its weapons arsenal and a dictatorial and non-democratic china continues its unrelenting march towards more weapons..

Now,about the Nobel prize, even the White House sources were reportedly surprised by the announcement.

Instances like these greatly erode the value of the so-called NOBEL PRIZE...

Reports of chinese intrusion wrong says Buddhadeb

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee believes that recent reports of intrusion by the Chinese army in the northeast are false.

He said the reports of intrusions into Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh were a propaganda run by the “pro-US Indian media”. And the conspiracy was hatched by the US arms lobby.

The 67-year-old chief minister and a member of the CPI(M) Politburo, the highest policy-making body of the party, said, “There’s no such intrusion in actuality.”

Addressing party colleagues at a seminar in Kolkata to commemorate the 60 years of the People’s Republic of China on Friday, Bhattacharjee said all this was happening, as India was forming a power group with Beijing and Moscow.

How does he know for sure that there is no intrusion????

He is saying all these inspite of all the media reporting about the intrusions with solid evidences.chinese soldiers painted chinese letters on stones in the Indian side.Materials used by chinese soldiers were recovered inside Indian territory.Even china is reported to have said about some of the intrusions that they cannot be termed as intrusions because the borders are not clearly marked along the areas where intrusions are reported..!!

He just cannot term all the Indian media like NDTV and others as “pro-US Indian media”.Any body who watches news in the Indian news channels will understand that there is no pro-US bias there. There are news items which are highly critical of US as well.So this obvious lie by the West Bengal CM is a cover-up for the "all-weather-support" that the Indian communists are giving china.

Why is the West Bengal Chief Minister rushing to give a clean chit to china?
A china which has not recognised Arunachal Pradesh,Sikkim,Jammu & Kashmir as part of India..!
A china which is blatantly anti-Indian and is trying pull down India in all available opportunities.
A china which is increasingly intimidating India.

It will be interesting to know what is Mr.Buddhadeb's opinion on china trying to block humanitarian aid from ADB to Arunachal Pradesh.

The communists are not concerned about china's help all through these years in the clandestine nuclear black market run by pakistan.Even pakistan's nuclear scientist cum thief A.Q.Khan admitted this in his letter which was in public domain recently.

But then nothing more should be expected from these communists who blatantly supported china during the India china war of 1962..!

People of West Bengal,Tripura,Kerala should think about whether they should continue to elect these communists who care more for china than India.

American aid for terrorism

The US will provide 899 million dollars in assistance to Pakistan in the fields of health-care, education, governance and reconstruction of areas affected by the 2005 earthquake.

The agreements for cooperation in these fields were signed between the two countries yesterday, bringing the total obligations to Pakistan through USAID this year to 920 million dollars, said a statement issued by the US embassy.

So now more funds will be available for the "health-care" of pak terrorists.More pak youth could be provided terror "education".

Former pak president "pervert" musharaff has himself admitted that pak diverted humanitarian aid provided by America to augment their fighting capabilities against India.pakistan's fighting weapon against India is terror organisations.
This does mean that American aid is being used to fund, train, modernise pak terror organisations.

The amazing thing is that America also knows these facts..!!
America surely would know from past experiences with pak that not a single pie will go towards rehabilitation of earth quake victims of 2005,on whose name the assistance is given.

A hearty thanks is due to the American administration headed by Barack Hussein Obama for the continued rise in American "HUMANITARIAN" aid to pak..

White lies of pak FM

"We are opposed to nuclear proliferation as well as an arms race in the region".
This claim is made by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, adding that Pakistan believes that the recent launch of a nuclear-powered submarine by India will affect strategic stability.

According to him, pakistan is "opposed to nuclear proliferation"...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pakistani leaders have absolutely no shame in uttering these tall moral claims, when the whole world knows,on the basis of solid proof, that pakistan smuggled nuclear technology and had clandestine nuclear dealings with countries like china, iran, lybia, north korea.

Spine-less Voice-less

"It is our considered view and position that there should be no discrimination against visa applicants of Indian nationality on the grounds of domicile for ethnicity.

"We have conveyed our well justified concern to the Chinese government in this regard," MEA spokesman Vishnu Prakash said.

The Chinese embassy here has recently issued stamped visas to some Kashmiris on a separate sheet of paper and not on their passports,a practice started recently in the case of those hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, which Beijing says is a disputed territory.

The action with regard to Kashmiri travellers is seen as an attempt by China to question status of Jammu and Kashmir as part of India.

Official sources said the issue was raised yesterday with the Chinese embassy.

Words like "considered view and position","well justified concern" clearly indicates that the Indian Government is bending over backwards to keep bloody china in good humor, and china continues to make merry..

One wonder what the dictator rulers of china is thinking by doing these cheap gimmicks..

Only thing to say to the Indian Government bosses is "Show some spine..".

china has crossed the limits long time back..
It's time we start behaving as a self-respecting Nation..

As a footnote, let me also bring up a news item that made headlines last week. It's about Indian fishermen caught, stripped naked and beaten-up by Sri Lankan Navy. Not heard the Indian Government making even a feeble noise, let alone protest..!!

When this is our response to humiliation we suffer from a Nation which is too small compared to us and is almost totally dependent on us,the less said about our response to china, the better.!!!

Let's continue to enjoy humiliations ...

Welcome other Countries also..

Ground Reality and world trend

Ahead of the meeting with his Indian counterpart S.M.Krishna, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said New Delhi should engage itself in talks to resolve the Kashmir issue.

"We hope New Delhi will realise the ground reality and world trends which essentially include negotiations and talks on resolving outstanding issues," he said.

Well, the 'ground reality' is for pak to realise.pak's official terror organizations are already a threat to pak itself and to the whole world, not only to India. What else is the ground reality???

And the 'world trend' is against terrorism arising out of pakistan.Nobody other than pakis is talking about Kashmir as an issue. The world is concentrated on the epicenter of terrorism, which is pakistan. There will be no issue in Kashmir,if pakistan stops the terror tap and infiltration and allows the people of the border state to live peacefully.

Hopefully S.M.Krishna will only talk about pak-sponsored terrorism with Qureshi.

Manmohan Singh on his 77th Birthday

As part of his 77th birth day message Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said ,"I am grateful to people of India for giving me opportunity to serve the nation. I completed five years. Again, they renewed their confidence in me that is the debt I can never pay off. I can only make an effort to repay it by dedicating my self to the nation and serve it in best of my ability."

Well,no need to be grateful to the people of India. He should mainly thank Sonia Gandhi who 'selected' him as PM.

After-all,the people of India never 'elected' Manmohan Singh. The only time he stood for an election,he lost.

It's true that Singh is a honest,hard-working,efficient PM and overall a good person. But at-least for this second term, he should have contested election and won people's direct mandate for his policies he initiated in his 1st term as PM.

Any way wishing him all the best and a Happy Birthday..
And of-course,it's still not too late..
If he and the congress wants India can still have an elected Prime Minister..!!

YSR in smile

Breaking his silence, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of the late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, on Friday gave enough hints that he was ready to take up the political mantle to fulfill his father’s dreams.

“I find YSR in everyone’s smile.I will be part of your family and let us together fulfill the dreams of YSR.” Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said in an emotional speech in a meeting at Nallakaluva, about 30 km from Atmakur in Kurnool district, after visiting the site where his father perished in a chopper crash.

I don't know if this, as news papers are reporting,is a indirect indication of making himself available for the CM post, but the Congress party will be making a big mistake if a political novice like Jagan is made CM.If as Mr.Jagan said,he is seeing YSR in every one's smile, then hopefully the current CM Rosaiah will give a smile to Jagan. After that Jagan should not have any problem allowing Rosaiah to continue as CM,because if some one smiles ,Mr.Jagan sees YSR in him.So let YSR continue..!! :D

If indeed Jagan is seeing YSR when some one smiles, then probably he should consult a doctor.. :)

Major Suri's sacrifice for the Nation

Major Suri (30) of the Kumayun regiment was deputed with the 13 Rashtriya Rifles since last one year. He died fighting militants in a 24 hour-long gun battle, in which four militants were killed in the Bandipora, Kashmir Valley on Wednesday.
He was given a tearful farewell on Friday.

He was cremated with full military honours at the Bansilalpet crematorium in Secunderabad amid the presence of the family members, relatives, friends, army officials and other concerned Indians.

Slogans like Bharat mata ki jai, Suri saheb ki jai and Suri saheb amar rahe filled the air, when the coffin draped in the tricolour was brought to the crematorium in a flower-decked gun carriage in a procession from his residence at Vani Nagar of Malkajgiri in Secunderabad.

Major Suri’s wife Pallavi, mother Girija and other family members filed past the body to pay their last respects.
Soldiers ceremoniously undraped the tricolour and placed the body on the pyre for the Hindu cremation rituals to begin. The neatly folded tricolour was seen in the hands of Pallavi after the rituals were over.

Major Suri’s brother Suneel Kumar lit the funeral pyre, while soldiers from EME Corps gave a gun salute and reversed their arms as a mark of respect for the national hero.

Major Suri, was commissioned in the Kumaon Regiment eight years ago.He celebrated his wedding anniversary on August 28.

Pallavi, who is expecting a baby, had joined him in Kashmir to celebrate his 30th birthday on October 5. Suri’s friend Nageshwar Rao said, “He was fearless and full of life. I can’t believe this has happened.”

"Suresh joined the army eight years ago. He was in Hyderabad during Ganesh Chaturthi festival besides his wedding anniversary was celebrated on August 28. He and Pallavi left for Delhi on September 5," said another family member.

Let's all Indians pray for his soul. And hope his family will come out of this huge tragedy. It will be really difficult for the family members to console Major Suri's wife who is expecting a baby..

Advani's favourite time pass

"Today, I have come to Somnath to offer my prayers on the 20th anniversary of my Rath Yatra. Ram temple should be and will be built at Ayodhya," Advani said today after offering prayers.

"I visit Somnath every year this day and will continue to do so till Ram temple comes up at Ayodhya," Advani, who was accompanied by his daughter Pratibha, said.

A very simple question to Mr.Advani is,'how long you will continue to try to fool the people?".
It's time to move on.Retire.Live a peaceful life. It's true that playing temple politics fetched you some votes during a certain period.People of India has seen through your vote bank politics in the name of Lord Ram.That's why people did not vote for the BJP ,even when you were the declared PM candidate in the last Lok Sabha election.

There is a saying that 'You can fool some people some times, but you cannot fool all people all the time'.

So move on..

The Great Sachin Tendulkar Again..

Tendulkar after scoring his 44th ODI century which enabled India to win the tri-series involving India,Sri Lanka,New Zealand.
In the final against Lanka India made 319/5 and won by 46 runs.Harbhajan took 5 wickets.Though India batted brilliantly with Dhoni and Yuvraj getting fifties,India's bowling and fielding were pathetic.Hope they will try and do some thing about it.

Any way congrats Indian Team for the victory..

Plain Selfishness by India's Top Intelligence Men

At a time when India is facing serious problems all around its borders,India's external intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) is facing turmoil because of the selfishness of its officials.

One would have hoped that at a time when there are reports of incursions in the Ladakh area of Jammu and Kashmir and various other incursions and aggressive intimidation from china on one side, danger from pak terrorists and pak on the other side and with Maoists stoking anti-India sentiments in Nepal, the least the officials of RAW should have done for the Country is to atleast tone down their public protest over some petty personal gains.

If their concerns were genuine, they should have taken it up with higher-ups in a more discreet manner.

Seven high ranking RAW officials have gone on a mass protest leave, after an IPS officer superseded them.

The mass leave is to protest the promotion of IPS officer Avdesh Mathur as special secretary. The seven officers are from the Research and Analysis Service (RAS). There is constant tension between RAS and IPS officers in RAW. The present RAW chief is also from IPS. RAS cadres fear that the next chief will also be from IPS.

This is a shameful episode both for the Agency and for the Government. This is a disaster for our Country. At a time when India needs intelligence inputs from RAW, the most, for the security and well being of the Nation,a public dirty fight over 'PROMOTIONS' is most worrisome.

RAW officials and the Government should also seriously think of the impact of this protest on the credibility and effectiveness of RAW.We keep making ourselves a joker infront of the world.

These things will continue to occur in future as well,if we don't keep National interest above personal interests..!

One more example of chinese hegamony

The Dalai Lama''s planned visit to Arunachal Pradesh in November has triggered a controversy with China today objecting to it but India asserted that no restrictions would be put on the travel of the Tibetan spiritual leader. The Dalai Lama intends to travel to Arunachal in the middle of November, which the Tibetan government-in-exile says has nothing to do with politics.

The Dalai Lama is undertaking the visit apparently to deliver speeches there. China expressed "strong concern" over the proposed visit, saying it "further reveals the Dalai clique''s anti-China and separatist essence".

"We firmly oppose Dalai visiting the so-called ''Arunachal Pradesh''," Jiang Yu, the spokeswoman for China''s foreign ministry, told Reuters. India, which maintains that China has no say on affairs related to Arunachal Pradesh, felt the Chinese objections are unwarranted as the Tibetan leader is free to travel anywhere in the country.

"There are no restrictions on travel of the Dalai Lama in India," official sources said when asked to comment on Chinese opposition to his visit. China lays claim to entire Arunachal Pradesh and had objected when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh undertook a visit to the state three years back and President Pratibha Patil earlier this year.

Who is china to say that so and so person should not travel to a part of India???
If India says china should not allow some one to travel to so-called shanghai or so-called beijing, will china listen??
India should outrightly reject and ask them go to hell when these kind of dirty objections are raised by china.Dalai Lama's visit should be converted to a State visit, let's see what china does..

kasab's demands in Jail

26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Ajmal Kasab wants spicy food and 'basmati' rice for himself and if he does not get dish of his choice he gets furious and abuses the staff of the Arthur road central prison, where he is lodged.

Last week, he had demanded 'basmati' rice and before that wanted 'mutton biryani', Jail Superintendent Rajendra Dhamne said.

This guy, kasab, who was part of the terror group who gunned down more than 180 people, cannot be considered a human being.
He wants Biriyaniiii....!!!
He deserves dogs urine as his food.Or may be donkey excreta..

One fails to understand why what he eats or drinks or vomits in the jail is given so much importance.
He is a person who is caught red-handed killing scores of innocent civilians. It was on 26/11/2008.Today is 07/09/2009.

The simple question is,why is he alive till today??

He should have been hanged to death,or had his hands and legs cut-off or stoned to death, long back..!!

With due apologies, let me say,it's the contempt for this 'mass-murderer-pak-animal' which makes me say these nasty words..

Continued chinese aggression towards India

It's absolutely shocking to see the Indian Government's and even the Opposition parties' continued silence over a series of highly provocative and aggressive actions by china against India.

Daily there are reports of chinese soldiers entering Indian territory. The latest intrusion reported is in Ladakh,where-in the intruded chinese thugs painted chinese letters in rocks deep inside Indian territory.

Despite all these, Indian Foreign Minister S.M.Krishan is quoted as saying that India and China shared "one of the most peaceful" borders...!!

Is he deaf and dump??

He made himself unfit for the position he is holding by such absurd and foolish statements..!!

Just think of what the chinese themselves might be thinking after hearing his statement..!!
Even they will be shocked..!!
The whole world might be laughing at us..

china is repeatedly violating India's territorial integrity and here is the Indian Foreign Minister saying non-sense..
Absolute rubbish..

Is India trying to buy peace on its borders by meekly surrendering to the whims and fancies of the dictatorial chinese thugs??

I mean,it's beyond my imagination,any way...
No other Country in the world would have acted like what India is doing..!!

What is India waiting for?

Why on earth, India is not even lodging a strong protest with the chinese government?

It's clear as day light that china is testing the waters and china is having some mad plans and it is working towards achieving that goal.

If India is not preparing itself to meet this challenge, then God save our Country...!!

china might be figuring out what India will do if it enters our territory and holds it.
What else explains the entry of chinese soldiers into Indian territory frequently violating all norms of International Law.

Till now they went back after coming-in.
What-if, if they don't go back??
May be S.M.Krishna and his Government will treat them as State Guests..!!
Our response to this continued provocation was that shameful till now..

IT'S SHOCKING..OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS THIS NAKED AGGRESSION AGAINST OUR MOTHER-LAND..
WHY ARE WE TOLERATING THIS..
ARE WE NOT A BIG ENOUGH NATION??
ARE WE NOT CAPABLE OF ATLEAST,AT THE LEAST LODGING A MILD PROTEST??????????

We are making a fool of ourselves..
It's really really painful,a sad situation to be in.............

It's time India realise that our appeasement policy towards china has failed miserably. What are we trying to achieve by being soooo nice to the chinese, when they continue to spit on our face?

It's time India launches a STRONG diplomatic offensive against these blatant violations..

It's time India further strengthens its borders. Those chinese soldiers who illegally intrude into Indian territory should be captured, atleast once as a warning to the chinese.Afer all they have no business to be inside Indian territory..

It's time India goes for a VERY VERY Massive and HIGHLY VISIBLE,high profile arms purchase on a world-wide scale.Let china know that we are also well prepared to meet any eventuality and we won't be a sitting duck in case china decides to attack us or try to snatch our Land.Let's throw-away our no-first-use policy of nuclear weapons. To hell with such idiotic policies. No other Country has such stupid policies..

It's HIGH time India recognises His Highness Dalai Lama's Government-in-Exile as the Official Government of Tibet and He should be given high level of exposure throughout the world for his humane campaign. Why is India accepting Tibet as part of china??
Till date china has not recongnised India's own Arunachal Pradesh,Sikkim as part of India..!

It's also about time,we put an end cheap imports from china. They are making huge profit out of it,let's put an end to this.Let's ban all these chinese toys, chinese mobiles etc.,and all other junks that's flooding the Indian markets..

Till now china was an enemy ..
Now it's an enemy out in the open, blowing war horns, daring us,abusing us,opposing us in every international fora, testing our patience and waiting for an opportune time to attack us and to occupy more of our Land..

A simple fact successive Indian governments should have realised is this:

Only Power respects Power..
Only Might recognize Might..

If India seems fragile,it's damn sure enemies like china & pak will take advantage..
Well,they are already doing that..

At some stage India should have do adopt aggressive posturings..
Aggression does not mean India should attack any one.Atleast we should show others that we are very well capable of defending ourselves and we will NOT TOLERATE ANY,ANY VIOLATIONS OF OUR LAND,OUR TERRITORY..

We should demonstrate in no uncertain terms that our Land is sacred for us and no one should dare casting an evil eye on our Beloved MotherLand.

Just imagine what china's response would have been if it was India which was doing all these aggressive intrusions into chinese territory..
I am sure the reaction would have been different..
For that matter, any other Country, other than India would have reacted strongly..

As ordinary Indian citizens,we can only pray to God for the well being of our Nation..

The one thing that comes out through all these is :
'India needs Strong Leaders who have Spine..URGENTLY AT THAT..'

An open threat against law of the land

Shiv Sena dared the Maharastra government to arrest party chief Bal Thackeray after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued by a Bihar court against the Sena supremo for allegedly making uncharitable and inflammatory remarks against Biharis in party mouthpiece 'Saamna'.

"The Sena chief was arrested earlier and the government has seen what happens when he is arrested. I don't think they will commit the mistake again," Thackeray's son and Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said, reacting to the development.

Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (Bhojpur) Rakesh Pati Tiwari ordered issuance of the warrant after Thackeray failed to appear before him in compliance with his July 7 order on a complaint filed by advocate Rajesh Kumar Singh in the court in 2008 accusing Thackeray of making comments against Biharis in 'Saamna'.

Well, what Uddhav is saying is an open threat against Indian Law.Open defiance against judiciary. The Maharastra Government should show some spine and go ahead and arrest this so-called-above-the-law person and deal sternly with those who try to fan trouble after-wards.

One fail to understand the attitude of the Shiv Sena.If there is a court case and an arrest warrant, they should fight the case in court and not to issue veiled threats of violence. It's not a cultured way of dealing this.

It's time to grow-up as far as the Sena is concerned..!!

Gmal outages

Gmail is certainly loosing some fans recently because of the increasingly frequent and disturbing service outages.
The latest such instance was reported on Tuesday.

In Google's Gmail forum, users claiming to be in Italy, Germany, France, and Taiwan, along with users from various states in the U.S., report being unable to access Gmail.

The other recent failures were :

On May 14, Gmail was down for about an hour. A limited number of users were affected by a 20 minute outage on May 8.

In February, Google apologized for a significant Gmail outage and extended account subscriptions for Google Apps Premier customers for 15 days, as per the Gmail service-level agreement. Other notable Gmail outages occurred last year in April, August, and October.

Hope Gmail bosses will find a permanent solution to these minor irritants else Gmail could loose valuable users rapidly in future.

Happy Onam to all Keralities

Happy Onam to all and a very special thanks to all those Malayalees who are trying desperately to change kerala from 'God's Own Country' to 'Drinker's Own Kerala'.!!

A report from rediff goes like this :

Beverages Corporation, which is the sole body licensed to sell Indian Made Foreign Liquor in Kerala [ Images ] has announced record sale in the Onam season. The corporation said it earned Rs 34.14 crore on Monday alone.

The sale figures of consumer federation outlets and the bar hotels in the state are not available as yet. Studies in the past revealed that around 30 to 35 per cent sales were recorded in consumer federation's outlets. It may be noted that the Beverages Corporation is the sole billing body while consumer federation outlets act as secondary shops to beverage outlets.

According to records, the sale on the same day in 2008 was Rs 22.10 crore. This shows an increase of 49 per cent.

The record sale is attributed to the closure of all liquor shops on Uthradam day -- the first day of Onam. People are storing liquor as Thiruvonam (the actual day of the festival) falls on Wednesday.

There is major rush at several Beverages Corporation outlets. Police had to resort to cane charge to disperse unruly mob in several parts of the state.

In Kerala, bonuses for government employees and a month's salary are distributed in advance during the Onam season. What follows is a shopping spree.

Beverages Corporation records shows that during Onam the sale of liquor during the period from August 26 to 31 touched Rs 132 crore while during the same period last year it was Rs 110 crore.

The Beverages Corporation outlet in Chalakkudi in Thrissur district had record sale as usual with the figure touching Rs 22 lakh on Monday alone. The second most revenue-earning outlet was Karunagapally in Kollam district, which sold liquor worth Rs 20.37 lakh.

Remembering Ashok Kamte

Amidst Independence Day celebrations, the country also remembered one of its heroes of 26/11, late additional commissioner of Mumbai Police, Ashok Kamte.

A road was named after the braveheart in Saturday in South Mumbai, a place where he once lived.

"He was gallant, he was brave and his courage was beyond words," said Additional Commissioner, South Mumbai, Himanshu Rai while paying his tribute to Kamte.

"In front of him all of us pale. I don't think most of us could emulate him. He was a class apart. It was in his DNA," said Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan.

The Ashok Chakra awardee and martyr Ashok Kamte's contemporaries remember him with respect but fall short of words to describe his brilliance.

After the road was named in Kamte's memory his wife Vinita Kamte thanked the people of Mumbai.

Kamte laid down his life on November 26, 2008, fighting Ajmail Amir Kasab and Ismail Khan in the lane next to Cama Hospital.

A gold medallist in weightlifting, the multi-talented giant as people called him was perhaps the only man in Khaki to have had a massive fan following in all the places he served.

His acquaintances still remember his love for his uniform and his pride for the service and the nation too salutes its braveheart.CNN-IBN Report..

PM's failure to mention pak

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L K Advani on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for failing to mention the Sharm-e-Sheikh Indo-Pak joint statement in his Independence Day address.

Question to Mr.Advani is:
Is it necessary to crow the word pakistan on every Indian independence day??

May be Mr.Advani can again make a trip to pak and revist the Jinnah tomb. This time perhaps he should take the Kandhahar fame Mr.Jaswant Singh with him.After-all Mr.Jaswant is the latest admirer of Jinnah.

As for the BJP,RSS,VHP etc.,it's going to be fun time.Because Mr.Mohammed Ali Jaswant Singh is releasing a new 'fantasy Jinnah Biography'.Hope they all read it and start admiring the one person whom Advani and Jaswant Singh admires the most-Mohammed Ali Jinnah..!!

Also hope Jaswant Singh achieves what he really wants. He wants more people to buy his book and thereby earn more money. What else explains the unwanted, unsubstantiated preposterous claims he is making in his book...!!

May be Mr.Advani could ask the PM about his opinion on Jinnah..!!

20 Suicides in 40 Days

The Andhra Pradesh Government has admitted that 20 farmers committed suicide in the state over the last 40 days.

The State Government, however, maintained that the actual reasons for the suicide were yet to be ascertained.

This is a stunning news..
20 suicides in 40 days is alarming.Hope the state government and the Central government will find some way to prevent any more suicide..
Giving compensation and all is fine.

But PREVENTION is the need of the hour..

Daddy Cool

Few words:

Went and watched film 'Daddy Cool',starring Malayalam Super star Mammotty, last Thursday with 6 of my other friends. It's an eminently watchable movie. An entertaining one.Film revolves around father-son relationship. The kid is in awe of his father, sort of Hero worship..!

Mammotty looks very stylish.In-fact the film's USP is 'Brand Mammotty'.He looks remarkably younger, fitter. There are a few jokes at the expense of Indian cricketer from Kerala,Sreesanth.Suraj Venjaramoodan, even though only in 2 scenes,is really funny..

All in all,an enjoyable, out and out commercial film..

Don't want to say more and kill all the fun,if you are a Malayali and is planning to watch the film..

Highlights of every Independence Day ..

Prime Minister makes hollow promises from the Red Fort..
Chief Ministers, other VIPs make their own hollow promises to the people..
Patriotic Songs/films played in channels..
Vehicles flying National Flag..
People makes Independence Day wishes in mails, social networks..

Now,one scene which I hate seeing the days after the independence day is ,'Torn National Tri-color made of paper/plastic/cloth or what ever, strewn all over the place on roads and by-lanes and some people walking over it with not a care in the world..!!'.

hmm...

Any way hope every body had some special, nice, pleasant patriotic thoughts and feelings on our Nation's 63rd INDEPENDENCE DAY..

American Lessons On Religious Tolerance And Human Rights

America,it seems is very particular about one thing.

'SETTING DOUBLE-STANDARDS'...

It thinks it is a world police.Sets up laws.Wants every other nation to follow those laws. But America itself does not follow those laws.

In this blog,I want to talk about only one aspect of this behavior.

'AMERICA AND RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE'...

America setups some junk panels to sit on judgment on so-called religious freedom throughout the world.

And that funny panel puts India in a list of countries in a 'watch-list' where India is in the same bracket as countries like Afghanistan..!!

India is a multi-cultured,multi-religious,multi-lingual pluralistic society.India is a big Country.Of-course it's true that there are some religious tensions in one or two parts of India created by some demagogues. But those are one off incidents. And India and Indian people knows how to handle such minor irritants.America and it's rulers and dump panels or the so-called 'independent bodies ' should mind its own business and not try to push in it's ugly head into unwanted areas and screw up things..!!

What is America's record on human rights and religious tolerance??
Pathetic,isn't it??

If things are analyzed and tracked back to proper historical facts,it's very obvious that almost all human sufferings,at least the present ones,be it in Afghanistan or Iraq or any other part of the world, are mainly due to faulty American policies.

America created monsters like Osama and pak terror groups.American people themselves suffered on 9/11,because of the foolish Afgan-pak policies of the nineties .

After 9/11 what ever America did,was anti-Muslim to say the least.Mere suspects were kept in cages in Guantanamo bay,as if those humans were some monkeys kept in zoos...!
Against most of them kept in those cages,America was not able to furnish even an iota of evidence..

Why is the American panel on religious panel mum on these facts??

America frisks any person bearing a semblance of being a Muslim,be it in name or appearance. What ever American officials say,it's absolutely clear that the treatment to former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam,Shah Rukh Khan and other ordinary people are not mere routine security frills. It was mere harassment in the name of religion..!!
What else explains a 2 hour long detainment at airports?
May be it is America's way of making America secure..!!
OK,fine.
If that is the case,America should not complaint,if the same sort of treatment is meted out to American citizens and VIPs through out the world.Yardsticks applied should be same.

I wind up with the following 2 block of statements and leave the readers to decide on the irony of what America preaches and what it practices..!!

The Obama Administration on Friday said freedom of expression and religion is important for the United States, but refrained from making any comment on the a US body putting India on "watch list" for religious intolerance.

"You know, freedom of expression and religious freedom we think are hallmarks of stable, progressive societies in the 21st century. It is obviously important to us," Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P J Crowley said at the daily State Department press briefing.

When asked what impression Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had during her visit to India last month, Crowley said: "I can't say to what degree it came up during the Secretary's conversations last month, but clearly this is an area which we think it obviously is across the globe a source of potential stability."

The Obama Administration believes that those societies that practice significant tolerance will be those that advance most significantly in the coming years.

"I was really hassled at the American Airport because of my name being Khan...The couple of hours of interrogation wanting to know if I know anyone in America while all around people were vouching for me from India and Pakistan (sic)," the Bollywood superstar said in a statement.

"Only these guys just would not let me through. Finally they allowed me to make a call, which I did and the Indian Consulate helped me through.

Khan, who was on his way to Chicago to attend an Independence Day function was detained at the New York Airport and questioned for about two hours before the Indian mission intervened and secured his release.

"It was absolutely was uncalled for I think, me having just finished working there for more than a month...just a couple of weeks ago. They said I have a common name which is causing the delay...checked my bags...I felt angry and humiliated,"

"I appreciated my independence a million times more today, I wish I was in India on Independence Day," Khan told a news channel.

The Indian Consulate in New York is in touch with Khan, and the Indian government has taken up the issue with the United States administration.

I am not blaming the American people here,I am just talking about the sheer double standards practiced and perfected by each and every American governments from time immemorial.American people seems to be nice,after-all they elected a person bearing the name Barack Hussein Obama as their President.I have read/heard some people saying that it's the American people to be blamed for electing people like George Bush, who led the world into an unwanted invasion of Iraq. The answer to them is,American people does not seem to have a choice, who ever they elect,it seems there are some base 'double standard' policies every American president is supposed to follow..!!

Major Mohit Sharma from 1 Para (Special Forces), killed in a battle with terrorists in the Hafruda forest in Jammu and Kashmir this March, has been honoured with Ashok Chakra, the country’s highest peace time gallantry award on the occasion of Independence Day.

Major D. Sreeram Kumar, who killed 12 terrorists in counter-insurgency operations in the northeast, will also be honoured with Ashok Chakra.

Major Mohit Sharma was born in Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh and was commissioned into 90 Medium Regiment (Artillery) in March 2004. His family is now settled in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Major Sreeram Kumar is serving with 30 Assam Rifles, to which he was deputed in March 2007 in Arunachal Pradesh during ‘Operation Orchid’.

Major Tewari came under fire from five Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists during a night operation in Jammu and Kashmir in November last. Braving the bullets, the Army officer eliminated three terrorists in a close-range battle and critically injured the fourth. The operation led to the killing of all five terrorists.

Paratrooper Shabir Ahmed Malik is being awarded Kirti Chakra posthumously, for rescuing an injured team member during an operation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The fourth Kirti Chakra awardee is Naik Rishikesh Gurjar of 10 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput), who is now the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) in charge of a ghatak platoon in the unit. He made two LeT terrorists surrender before him in ‘Operation Rakshak’ in Jammu and Kashmir.

The real Chinese intention

Quite contrary to the conclusion of the recent India-China border talks, a Chinese strategist asserted that India should be broken into 20 to 30 independent states with the help of the ‘friendly countries’ like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

This was suggested in his article ‘If China takes little action the so called great Indian Federation can be broken up’, which was published on the new edition of the website of the China International Institute of Strategic studies (CIISS), an influential think tank which advices Bejing on global strategic issues.

In his article which is likely to create ripples in the masses and classes of India, the Chinese strategist Zhan Lue argues that India could only be termed a ‘Hindu religious state’ that is based on caste exploitation and which is coming in the way of modernisation.

The article recommends India's break up into many nation-states like in Europe and contends that if the consciousness of ‘nationalities’ in India could be aroused, social reforms in South Asia can be achieved, the caste system can be eradicated and the region can march towards prosperity. The author further says that with these caste cleavages in mind, China in its own interest and the progress of whole of Asia should join forces with ‘different nationalities’ like Assamese, Tamils and Kashmiris and support them in establishing independent nation states of their own.

The article calls on Beijing to support the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), a militant separatist group in the Indian northeast, to achieve independence for Assam from India and also assist Bangladesh to encourage ethnic Bengalis to get rid of ‘Indian control’.

Division of India would be desirable for the purpose of weakening India's expansion and threat aimed at forming a ‘unified South Asia’, the article asserts.

Although the Chinese diplomatic clan has showcased healthy relationship building between the two nuclear armed nations, its influential institutions continue to suggest policies which are meant to hamper India’s progress.
Samachar.

Whoever is this so-called tank,think-tank ,that is,hope China has many more foolish tanks like these...!!

He should have atleast remembered that the India also can do these sort of dirty tricks to china as well..

Any way,not sure what else china can do to India inaddition to all the dirty tricks it is already playing..!!

The less said about the dictatorial, authoritarian,
anti-democratic,inhuman,ugly nature of China,the better..

Indian's Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor thinks differently.Perhaps he too knows the reality and is saying what he said only for the sake of it :)

Rediff reports :

India has a 'fundamentally healthy' relationship with China that goes beyond the boundary issue, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor stated on Tuesday.

"The relationship should not be seen only in the context of the problems, it should also be seen in the context of the opportunity," he said when asked about the India-China border talks last week.

Tharoor said, "We are very pleased to say that, by and large, even the fact of the border talks is confirmation that the relationship remains fundamentally healthy."

The special representatives of India and China, National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo, held the 13th round of talks on the vexed boundary issue in New Delhi on August 7.

Noting that China had recently become India's single largest trade partner, the minister said looking at the export and import sector without the IT services, China has overtaken the United States.

Tharoor said there was an increase in the number of tourists coming from China to India. "A large number of tourist visas are issued to Chinese to come to India. They may be discovering India as an important tourist destination," he said.
