Hard reality for Sharad Pawar

“There is a feeling among Maharashtrian people that a number of states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka have got a chance to occupy the Prime Minister’s office. So Maharashtra should get an opportunity as well,” NCP leader Sharad Pawar told NDTV in an exclusive interview.

That was Sharad Pawar, doing kite flying for himself. But he is a pragmatic person and so he himself says,“If my party is contesting hardly 30-35 seats in the entire country, how can anybody expect that I can take the responsibility to lead the nation with such a small number,” Pawar said.

Alas,Sharad Pawar got it wrong when he said that a number of states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka have got a chance to occupy the Prime Minister’s office.Well,It's not these states or persons from these states who occupied the Prime Minister's office. That's not the correct way to put it.It's Indians. If only Pawar can get out of his regionalistic mindset,he could be an acceptable candidate as PM for the whole of India, some time in the future, possibly.

But apparently he is trying to put his feet in two boats recently.Even though his party is in alliance with the Congress,he seems to be warming up to the Shiv Sena as well. This does not show Pawar in a good light.
