Michael Jackson on India

Michael Jackson is not my favorite singer. But the below quote from him, which I came across today in one of the websites is a pleasant surprise to me.This he reportedly penned when he came to India.

"India, all my life I have longed to see your face. I met you and your people and fell in love with you. Now my heart is filled with sorrow and despair for I have to leave, but I promise I shall return to love you and caress you again.

"Your kindness has overwhelmed me, your spiritual awareness has moved me, and your children have truly touched my heart. They are the face of God. I truly love and adore you India. Forever, continue to love, heal and educate the children, the future shines on them. You are my special love, India. Forever, may God always bless you," wrote Jackson.

It's such a beautiful quote..

China's pathetic thoughts

If one go by various reports that are coming out that gives China's impression about India, the one word to describe all those is "PATHETIC".

It's a bit funny also..

In an editorial in People's Daily, writer Li Hongmei said Indians harbored a mix of "awe, vexation, envy and jealousy -- in the face of its giant neighbor".

Phu..!!
How 'Pathetically Funny.....',if I may quote like that..!!

I don't think there is a single Indian other than the Communists',may be,who are in awe of China.

What's there to be so jealous of China.

First and foremost it's not a democracy. So people there have no voice in who should rule them.Chinese government controls the media,so only the official lies or propaganda, what ever you may want to call it,will be published..!

The Communist Government there does not allow any sort of opposition to it's rule.Any dissident voice is crushed mercilessly..

Is there any thing for Indians to be jealous about these ????

Another editorial in Global Times says, "India can't actually compete with China in a number of areas, like international influence, overall national power and economic scale. India apparently has not yet realized this... India's growing power would have a significant impact on the balance of this equation, which has led India to think that fear and gratitude for its restraint will cause China to defer to it on territorial disputes. But this is wishful thinking, as China won't make any compromises in its border disputes with India. And while China wishes to coexist peacefully with India, this desire isn't born out of fear."

India 'may not' compete with a dictatorial China in a number of areas, but for an ordinary Indian like me,India is any day 100000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better than China.

I would like to born again and again and again and again .... as an Indian if there are thousand more births for me.I don't think there are many ordinary Chinese citizens who will have the same feeling. How can any body think of surviving again in a country where there is no freedom of expression..!!

What ever development your country may have, having fundamental rights is the basic thing, isn't it..!!

Enemy China In India Bashing Mood Again

China has expressed “strong dissatisfaction” over the Asian Development Bank’s decision to approve a $2.9-billion funding plan for India which includes projects in parts of Arunachal Pradesh still under dispute between the two countries.

The Chinese government said on Thursday the ADB had “tarnished” its name by approving the plan and urged the bank to reconsider its decision.

The ADB’s Board of Directors met on Monday to approve India’s country strategy for 2009-12, which includes a $60 million flood-management programme in Arunachal Pradesh. China still has claims on parts of the State, and talks to resolve the long-running border dispute between the two countries have made little progress.

The Chinese government accused the bank of playing politics by granting approval for India’s projects. Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said on Thursday China expressed “strong dissatisfaction” over the decision.

“The Asian Development Bank, as a regional developmental institution, should not interfere in the political affairs of members,” he said.

“The bank’s move not only seriously tarnishes its own name, but also undermines the interests of its members.”

Mr. Qin said the outcome “[did] not change the fact that China and India have huge territorial disputes,” and could not change China’s “fundamental position on the border issue.”

The Chinese government “strongly urged” the ADB to “take effective measures to eliminate the negative impact of this move,” he added.
Report from The Hindu.

India should pay back to China in the same coin.
India should raise claim for Tibet.Strongly oppose China in all possible international forums.

There is nothing worst China can do to India than what it is doing to India currently [and all through the past].
It has done every thing in its power to hurt India. There was a report based on some poll done in China which showed that 90% of Chinese believe India to be an enemy Nation. One can dispute the validity of such polls. But the indications are unmistakable.

Chinese government is absolutely hostile to India is a fact we all Indians should acknowledge.China claims Arunachal Pradesh,Assam as its own and is holding large portions of Indian territory. Not even India's arch-rival Pakistan has gone to that extend..!!

It's absolutely critical for India as Nation to be very very careful about China.pakistan is a more visible enemy of India, but China plays its treacherous games from the background. It's this which is more poisonous...

And the very fact that China is opposing HUMANITARIAN flood relief funding for Arunachal Pradesh shows it's ugly face.It also shows that China is not at all interested in the welfare of people of a part of land it claims to be it's own...!!!

China thinks it has become a super power.Indian attitude to China's tantrums should be simple-"Go To Hell"..

PM ambitions of Mayawati

"I am aware that the opposition had ganged up to prevent the daughter of a dalit from occupying the prime minister's chair".

"It was amply evident that they struck an underhand deal amongst themselves to ensure that I do not become prime minister, because their casteist mindset cannot digest the rise of a dalit to the top office".

"And they also knew that if Mayawati were to get a foothold at the Centre, it would not be easy to uproot her from there".

"It does not matter to me how many more years it will take to achieve my ultimate goal."

These are some of the latest quotes from Bahujan Samaj Party president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Hope Indian people won't be that foolish to allow Mayawati to become Prime Minister of India.

Huge Mayawati statues all over Uttar Pradesh...!!
That's her only "achievement" as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Indians hopefully don't want her statues to be build all over India, wasting crores and crores of public money..

Laugh.. :)
That's all one can do on reading her statements like the opposition [obviously Congress,BJP etc she is referring to],had an underhand deal in the last Lok Sabha election to prevent her becoming PM.. :D

Behenjiii,Indian people don't want you to be India's PM.That's why you are not the PM.Be grateful to the people of Uttar Pradesh for making you their CM and do some welfare activities for them instead of wasting public money on building your statues..!!!
Obviously the poor and hungry people can't eat your iron statues..!!

Atleast the CM Chair is there now.
People of Uttar Pradesh will throw you out of power at the earliest possible oppurtunity,if your government's only activity continues to be 'Mayawati-Statue-Building'.

Air India pilot Captain NK Beri's Courageous decision

A possible Air France-like disaster was averted by a firm Air India pilot. But instead of lauding him, the Air India management grounded him and stopped his salary.

The pilot, Captain NK Beri was grounded after he refused to fly flight number AI-822 from Riyadh to Mumbai after the aircraft developed a technical snag on May 27.

The pilot declined to operate the aircraft with over 300 passengers on board despite Air India’s top officials mounting pressure on him.

A baffled Air India, which feels the airline “incurred heavy monetary losses and was subjected to an embarrassment” due to the episode, has issued a show cause notice to Capt Beri, the captain of the Boeing 747-400.

The airline has stopped payment of his salary and declared him “not available for flying duties”.

A show cause notice issued by Air India executive director (Operations-II) Capt Rakesh Anand said the action on the part of Capt Beri caused 24 hours delay in the departure of the flight from Riyadh.

Capt Beri told HT he had refused to operate the flight in the night with landing gear down, said “I didn’t want to risk the lives of so many passengers. Flying an aircraft with landing gear down at night is against the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) regulations.”

A senior technical examiner of Boeing 747-400 aircraft, told HT on condition of anonymity, “When the gear is down, the aircraft’s performance gets severely compromised — it can’t go to higher altitudes, fuel consumption increases manifold, speed gets considerably reduced and it’s not easy to avoid harsh weather conditions. Nobody should insist that a pilot fly such aircraft at night.”

The flight developed a problem in the landing gear soon after take-off. The pilot-in-command, Capt Beri, informed Air Traffic Control that the aircraft's landing gear was not going up and he would have to return to Riyadh.

Surprisingly, he was asked to bring the flight to Mumbai with all passengers on board by Air India officials. But Capt Beri refused.

The episode, which took place four days before an Air France aircraft from Rio de Janeiro to Paris crashed, killing 228 passengers on board on May 31, and has raised questions about Air India’s concern for passenger safety.

Air India chairman-cum-managing director Arvind Jadhav, 53, was not available for comment.

Reports Manish Tiwari of Hindustan Times.

What's going on...!!
Air India does not care for the life of 300 odd passengers??
Pressurizing the pilot to fly a faulty aircraft that too when memories of the Air France disaster are fresh in every body's mind is shocking.Really shocking..

No lessons are learned from the Air France disaster??

To punish the pilot for possibly saving 300 precious lives is absurd.

To say that Air India 'incurred heavy monetary losses and was subjected to an embarrassment' is a joke, when precious lives are at stake.

Captain NK Beri deserves all the praise for showing courage of conviction in the face of such illogical, arrogant, absurd, foolish decisions by the Air India management.

God! Another fuel Hike??

The government is "seriously concerned" about the rise of crude oil prices in the global market and is looking at various options, including raising fuel prices, to tackle the situation, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said here Monday.

"We are seriously concerned about the rise in crude oil prices," he told reporters after meeting Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to discuss his budget wishlist.

"We have to seriously look at solutions... the alternatives before us are raising petrol and diesel prices, asking the government to make up for revenue loss through issuing oil bonds and upstream firms chipping in," Deora said.

The minister, however, refused to confirm whether a fuel price hike was imminent. "I cannot say anything on that," he said.
DailyPioneer

Well well well, another fuel price hike..??
Hope the government won't be so cruel on vehicle owners.People have lost count of the number of times fuel prices have gone up in the last 8 to 10 years.

The goverment should come up with some other way other than the hike. They just cannot continue to put the burden on the common man. It's just not on..

Indian Team's dismal T20 World Cup Campaign

India's shock exit from the T20 world cup was expected,if you consider the following facts.

  • Captain Dhoni had time only to fight with the media. He seemed very arrogant while answering queries from the Indian media contingent. He was not in his usual confident nature.
  • Indian players were not at all going through the routine practice sessions.Sessions were made optional and most of the players opted not to have nets. There is an old saying that 'Practice makes a man perfect'.
  • Injury to India's most destructive batsman Virender Sehwag.
  • Ishant Sharma's [continuous] worst bowling performances.God knows why he got picked for all the matches.
  • Dhoni's baffling batting order changes, especially his decision to bat Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Yuvraj and Yusuf Pathan against England.
  • Dhoni's own personal batting form and his uninspiring strike rates throughout the tournament. His batting was like that of the Rahul Dravid of old.He did not even TRY to score quickly.
  • India's insipid bowling at the death and generally lackluster batting, especially inability against the short ball. It's baffling why promising players like Suresh Raina continues to make the same mistake against short pitch bowling. Here again, one needs to question, why players opted not to have practice sessions. They should have come up with a strategy to tackle short pitch bowling.

The arrogance was very much evident, earlier, when Dhoni and Harbhajan did not attend the National function in which they were to receive the Padmashree awards, even though they were present in Delhi. Some channels reported that Dhoni gave priority to an ad shoot. It was an insult to the Nation.

On the whole most of the team members did not show any intensity on the field. They seemed more passionate and showed more hunger for victory when they were playing in the IPL,which is shocking, because in the T20 world cup these players were representing India, and in the IPL they were playing only for money.

It's sad to see that IPL money was given high priority than representing our Motherland..

Going out of the tournament before the semis and with still a game to play in the super 8 is embarrassing to say the least.

All the players looked jaded and fatigue was visible for every body to see.It seems the continuous matches in the IPL adversely impacted Indian players the most.

Any way let's hope the Indian team will come out of this difficult phase and will be more gentle in their behavior and shed their arrogance.

Highs and lows are part of life..!
It's important to learn the right lessons from setbacks to comeback strongly.

And here I wish Team India under Mahendra Singh Dhoni all the best and hope this T20 world cup was an aberration,a lesson well learned.

China doing what it knows best-Hurting India

Are fake drugs manufactured in China being pushed into various African countries with the `Made in India' tag? The Indian government has long suspected this to be the case, but it now has definite evidence for the first time.

Last week, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) of Nigeria issued a press release stating that a large consignment of fake anti-malarial generic pharmaceuticals labelled `Made in India' were, in fact, found to have been produced in China.

New Delhi has registered ``strong protest'' with the Chinese mission and China's foreign trade ministry, according to sources in the commerce ministry.

India's High Commissioner in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, Mahesh Sachdev, had earlier written to then commerce secretary GSK Pillai, alerting him to the large seizure: ``While this is a case of a Chinese company exporting fake `Made in India' labelled medicines which has been accidentally exposed, it is unlikely to be an isolated incident. Indeed there is no reason for Nigeria to be the only country to be receiving such consignments.''

His letter went on to say: ``Fake foreign-made generics carrying `Made in India' label can do tremendous harm to our interests. It not only dents our image and takes our legitimate market share, it also erodes the distinction between generic and fake medicines that we have been campaigning for at WHO and WTO''.

Commerce ministry sources said: ``We have had many complaints about such fake drugs from China being offloaded as Indian drugs in countries like Ghana, South Africa, Ivory Coast and West Africa — in general, where India has a substantial market share. But so far there has been no formal complaint. This is the first time that such a large international consignment has been seized and this will be taken up strongly with the Chinese side.''
Times Of India..

China is India's enemy No 1.
They have always tried their level best to harm our Nation..

They have given all sorts of active encouragement and help, both clandestine and other wise, to all and sundry who are willing to hurt India.Be it to pakistan or to the terrorist groups active in India's north-east..

It's about time India devices a long term strategic plan and patiently implements it to hurt China where it hurts the most for them..!

Non-Sense from a senseless so-called Leader

"The Bill is dangerous for the leadership of Lok Sabha... It is a conspiracy...It would finish the leadership," SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said while participating in the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address in the Lok Sabha.

He was talking about the Woman's Reservation Bill which provides for 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and assemblies.

Dangerous for the leadership of Lok Sabha....!!!???

Is this bill a real danger to the leadership of the Lok Sabha whose current speaker is a woman..?

What rubbish..

Even though I am against all other sorts of reservations based on caste, creed, religion etc.,as a citizen of this Great Country,I do feel that the proposed woman's Reservation Bill is not a bad idea.It certainly is not dangerous for the leadership of Lok Sabha. It will enable more woman participation and representation.

People like Sharad Yadav of the JD(u) wants caste based reservation even among this 33% reservation. His earlier statement that he will commit suicide if the bill is passed in the present form gives a ray of hope to those who believe that India will be better off with out politicians like him..!!

I have never understood what's the purpose of any sort of reservation based on caste/religion.

Why can't it be only for the financially backward?

After all it's only the financial status that distinguishes the rich and the poor...!

Self-destruction continues unabated...

Incensed over the Railway's decision to withdraw stoppage of several trains at Khusrupur station in Bihar, angry locals on Monday ransacked and torched the station, attacked the Intercity Express and uprooted rail lines under Danapur division, approximately 32 km from Patna.

Locals also attacked the 3226 down Danapur-Jainagar Intercity Express at Baikatpur village near the station, and torched its three bogies -- two general coaches and an air-conditioned chair car. They also uprooted the railway lines. Fire tenders fought for hours to douse the flames.

The mob also destroyed several electronic and other railway operation equipment and signal system, besides the ticket booking counter.

After the violence in Punjab, triggered by the attack on Sikh religious leaders in far away Vienna, which resulted in destruction of public property worth many crores, this incident is yet another instance of our blatant disregard for our National property.

If the protesters wanted to demonstrate against the proposed withdrawal of stops of trains, there were many available peaceful ways to protest.Resorting to violence and destroying our own property is 'disappointing' to say the least...

Whom are we hurting..!!!
