Political parties should not give up the country’s Kashmir policy despite US pressure, said Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Punjab President Pervaiz Elahi. He was talking to PML-Q leaders and officer-bearers on Saturday. Elahi said the country was facing a grave situation. He said, “The government has lost its writ and the Indian Research and Analysis Wing and Israeli Mossad are planning to attack our security forces via Afghanistan. The attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team was also part of it.”

So according to Elahi,Pakistan should not abandon it's terror policy in Kashmir and should continue to train terrorists,plan terrorism in not only Kashmir but also in other parts of India as they are currently doing,and try and capture Kashmir through the pak army's terror wings,the LeT,the Jaish,the Hizbul Mujahideen etc.It doesn't matter to pak that their own country is on the verge of being captured by hardcore taliban terrorists...

Now this Elahi is saying that India is going to attack via Afghanistan..

American diplomats are saying that the situation in pak is pathetic and the country is on the verge of collapsing because of the total free hand given by the pak government to terror organizations like taliban in areas like the Swat valley.But political parties in pak still continue to live in their own world.Still it's India,India and India alone that maters to them.They are not worried about their future.They are not concerned about a taliban takeover of the country...!!
No words can describe this.It's sooo sad.One can only hope that the innocent pak civilians may not have to go through what Afganistan was and is going through because of taliban rule there earlier...!!

Indian Flag burned by pro-LTTE anti-nationals
Fifteen activists of two pro-Sri Lankan Tamils outfits have been arrested for attempting to burn the national flags of India and Sri Lanka in Chennai on Saturday.
Activists of the Tamil National Socialist Party and Tamil Nationalist Liberation Movement were arrested when they tried to burn the flags of the two nations in front of Shastri Bhavan, which houses various Central government offices, police said.
The two outfits, in a release, alleged that despite repeated pleas from Tamil Nadu to pressurise Colombo for a ceasefire, the Indian government had not done enough to prevent the 'killings' of Lankan Tamils.
In Erode, four activists of two other pro-Lankan Tamil outfits -- Tamil Desiya Viduthalai Iyakkam and Tamildesa Poduvudamai Katchi -- also have been arrested from near the railway junction for burning national flags of the two countries.
The activists were arrested and partially burnt flags seized from them, police said.
It's highly regrettable that our national flag is burned by our own countrymen.Let them burn the Sri Lankan flag,if they think that burning a flag will reduce the sufferings of Lankan Tamils.It's the Lankan government which is involved in fight against LTTE which is a globally recognized terror organization.India has demanded that the Lankan government make sure that civilians don't suffer due to the war.India even asked the Lankan government to extend the ceasefire so that civilians could escape to safe zones.But from news reports it seems it's the LTTE which is using the Tamil population as human shields against the Lankan army.
The Lankan government has asked the UN,US and UK to mind their own business and not to interfere in their affairs when they asked for a prolonged ceasefire.When this is the situation,does the protesting pro-LTTE outfits of Tamil Nadu believe that the Lankan government will stop the offensive against the LLTE,especially when the LLTE is about to be defeated and Prabhakaran is about to be killed or caught?
Sri Lanka is a sovereign nation and it will not stop until it finishes off the LTTE which is a globally recognized terror outfit,which had caused a lot of bloodshed and mayhem.It's highly unfortunate that the innocent Tamil population and indeed all innocents in the fighting areas in Lanka is suffering because of the war.India has no control over the situation there and India is as helpless as those innocent civilians in the war front.
When this is the situation,our own countrymen burning our National Flag is really difficult to grasp.It shows that these people only think of themselves as LTTE-supporters first and not as Indians first.

China's declaration of support for the Sri Lankan government against the LTTE, apart from sticking out like a sore thumb in the eyes of the world, has further fuelled India's mortal distrust of its largest and most powerful neighbour. While India has a much more nuanced position over the issue owing to its domestic compulsions, an unfettered China is supporting Colombo and, in the process, authenticating India's fear about Beijing extending its influence in the Indian Ocean.
According to government sources, Beijing's support to Colombo cannot be viewed in isolation because it follows a series of initiatives aimed at influencing the Sri Lankan government. These include selling huge quantities of arms to Colombo last year and boosting aid almost five times to $1 billion. In fact, China is now the largest donor to Lanka. Its Jian-7 fighter jets, anti-aircraft guns and JY-11 3D air surveillance radars played a key role in the Sri Lankan military successes.
China came to rescue of Colombo after the US stopped direct aid to Sri Lanka because of its dismal human rights record. What's worse, said strategic affairs expert Brahma Chellaney, Beijing has also roped in its ally Pakistan for providing military assistance to Lanka. Pakistan's own economy is in tatters, but it has increased its annual military assistance to Sri Lanka to $100 million at Beijing's behest. It is also well known that its air force trained its Sri Lankan counterpart in precision-guided attacks.
"The Chinese are courting Sri Lanka because of its location in the Indian Ocean -- a crucial international passageway for trade and oil. Chinese engineers are currently building a billion-dollar port in the country's southeast, Hambantota, and this is the latest `pearl' in China's strategy to control vital sea-lanes of communication between the Indian and Pacific Oceans by assembling a `string of pearls' in the form of listening posts, special naval arrangements and access to ports,'' said Chellaney.
The Chinese are building a highway, developing two power plants and putting up a new port in the hometown of President Mahinda Rajapakse. Delhi is also feeling hard done-by by Beijing's support to Colombo over the issue of LTTE because it believes China is driving home an unfair advantage it has over India in the crisis. "Unlike in our case, there is no moral dimension to the crisis for China. We have to think about the humanitarian situation and conditions after the offensive is over. There is no domestic compulsion for China but our involvement is much more intricate,'' said a source.
China, in fact, continues to aggressively pursue its strategic interests by building ports in the Indian Ocean rim, including in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. According to Chellaney, Beijing has sought naval and commercial links with the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius and Madagascar. "However, none of the port-building projects it has bagged in recent years can match the strategic value of Hambantota,'' said Chellaney.

pakistan's white lies nailed once again
Pakistan should focus on militancy within its borders instead of worrying about India's presence in Afghanistan as there is no evidence to suggest that New Delhi is backing the extremists, US Special Envoy Richard Holbrooke has said.
"Pakistan does not have to worry about India in Afghanistan. They need to worry about the miscreants in western Pakistan," Holbrooke said in an interview with Geo News channel at the US State Department in Washington.
"Now if the Indians were supporting those miscreants that would be extraordinarily bad (and) really dangerous. But they're not. There is no evidence at all that the Indians are supporting the miscreants in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas or North West Frontier Province or Waziristan. None" he said.
Holbrooke was responding to a question on Pakistan's concerns about India's presence in Afghanistan.
He noted that India has been playing a key role in the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country.
"India has given Afghanistan about $1 billion in assistance. They are rebuilding the parliament building, they have built a very useful road in the southwestern part of the country leading down towards Iran. They're training agricultural experts, they're giving scholarships. The Indians have published a pamphlet on what they're doing. I don't think that should be cause of concern for Pakistan."
The US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan dismissed a question on Pakistan's perceived concerns about the activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan.
"Pakistanis have told me for a long time that India has hundreds of people in its consulate in Kandahar in Afghanistan. I asked Americans and UN people how big the Indian consulate was in Kandahar and they said six or eight people. You know I am not worried about that."
Holbrooke also defended his recent observation that India has a "leading role" to play in the region.
The remark was widely criticised in Pakistan.
"Of course, I said India has a leading role. It's the second largest country in the world. It's one of the most important countries in the world. What India does matters to the world." he said.
"China is a very important nation too. China and India have common borders with Pakistan. If you are interested in helping Pakistan, you should talk to its neighbours and that includes China, India and Afghanistan. Seems very simple, but we never told India what they should do in Afghanistan."
Asked about the US administration's stand on the Kashmir issue, Holbrooke replied he was "not in-charge of US-Indian relations".

Had 26/11-type terror attack taken place during NDA regime, the government would have erased Pakistan from world map, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said in Mumbai on Friday.
"If such attack would have taken place during our rule, we would have given a strong reply and erased Pakistan from world map," Uddhav said, addressing an election rally for BJP-Sena candidate Ram Naik in suburban Borivli on Friday evening.
This surely is an election speech gimmick at best,nothing else.

There is no way pak as a country can be erased from the world map.If that was possible,why did the Sena supported NDA government failed to do that when the Indian Parliament was attacked.why no such talk was heard when pak army regulars under the guise of "freedom fighters" infiltrated into India in Kargil?
Why nothing was done when the Indian Airlines flight was hijacked and a visible pak hand was found in that.Instead of wiping out pak from world map,the NDA government meekly surrendered to the pak terrorists and released dreaded terrorists and what is more India's foreign minister escorted them to Afghanistan,from where the terrorists entered pak and found the dreaded terror organization JEM,which subsequently carried out large scale terror attacks in India...!!

Communist Parties-India's curse
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Friday attacked the Manmohan Singh government for 'forging a deep security and military collaboration with Israel' and raised questions about the launching of Israeli spy satellites by India.
The CPI-M, which fiercely opposed the India-US nuclear deal, accused the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of 'obfuscating' facts about the launch of Israeli satellites and alleged this collaboration was part of the 'overall India-Israel-US axis'.
'The Congress-led government has been surreptitiously forging a deep security and military collaboration with Israel,' the CPI-M politburo said in a statement.
'The launching of Israeli spy satellites is just one aspect of this collaboration which is part of the overall India-Israel-US axis. The launch of an Israeli-made spy satellite and the trilateral joint naval exercises off the coast of Japan are the two latest instances,' the party said.
The statement refers to the the Israeli-made satellite, Radar Imaging Satellite-2 (RISAT-2), which was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) April 20.
The surveillance satellite has the capability to maintain vigil on the country's borders even at night and through clouds.

Israel as a country has never hurt India.On the contrary it has only helped India with the most modern weapons and now with the much needed spy satellite.Even though India's relation with Israel is more and more warm,India has never shied away from criticizing Israel's high-handedness against innocent civilians in Gaza.And Israel has accepted that India has a very solid traditional stand on the Palestinian problem.India should continue with that stand and if possible try and nudge Israel towards a mutually acceptable solution to their issues with Palestine.After all India will be one of the few countries in the world that has an excellent relationship with both Palestine and Israel..
As for CPI-M which continues to dream of an India of stone-age,well,what can one say..
Throughout the history of the party,they always opposed any thing positive that happens to India..
May be they are fully in sync with China's unwritten policy of not allowing India to be a Great Power..

Israel as a country has never hurt India.On the contrary it has only helped India with the most modern weapons and now with the much needed spy satellite.Even though India's relation with Israel is more and more warm,India has never shied away from criticizing Israel's high-handedness against innocent civilians in Gaza.And Israel has accepted that India has a very solid traditional stand on the Palestinian problem.India should continue with that stand and if possible try and nudge Israel towards a mutually acceptable solution to their issues with Palestine.After all India will be one of the few countries in the world that has an excellent relationship with both Palestine and Israel..
As for CPI-M which continues to dream of an India of stone-age,well,what can one say..
Throughout the history of the party,they always opposed any thing positive that happens to India..
May be they are fully in sync with China's unwritten policy of not allowing India to be a Great Power..
An interesting thing to note is,even though the left parties are fiercely opposed to India having any relationship with Israel,the communist government of West Bengal is doing normal business with that country...!!!

Spy in the Sky to fight Terror
India's launch of the military spy satellite RISAT-2,yesterday,was a milestone India should have strived to achieve much earlier.Now that we have done it,we must use it exclusively to monitor terrorist movements into our Sacred Land.
It's really amazing that we never thought of the need to have such a satellite earlier,even though pakistan's game plan of pushing hardcore terrorists to India started ,as a state policy in the early nineties.
Many say that the satellite is Israeli build.So what ?
It's hard to digest why parties like the Left criticize India's defense relation with Israel.Sure India needs to be sympathetic to innocent Palestinian citizens.But surely this should not in any way come in the way of India trying to secure herself.India should take help from all possible Countries to defeat India's biggest threat,that is pak sponsored terrorism.
As I mentioned above,it's hard to logically fathom why there is criticism,but then it's very obvious what the motive of those who oppose India's defense ties with Israel is..
Communal politics..
It's all about getting some minority votes,nothing else.It's absolutely not about any sympathy for the suffering Palestinian people..

The Line of Control in Kupwara and Baramulla along North Kashmir and along Rajouri in Jammu region had witnessed over a dozen infiltration bids in the past three weeks.
Official sources said despite engaging terrorists at various places, nearly 80 ultras managed to enter through Shamasbari range into Bandipore area in North Kashmir and hills of Rajouri in Jammu division.
All those who criticize India accepting Israeli help for our defense enhancement should realize the grave danger we as a Nation is facing from such large-scale and blatant infiltration from pak.Who knows,may be hardcore taliban terrorists also might have sneaked into India.So we very badly need to have better surveillance capabilities and the spy satellite launch is a very small but a giant leap towards that end,hopefully...
There will always be some doubts about the degree of effectiveness of a satellite as a tool in the fight against terror.But then it's better to have some thing,than having nothing at all.The most important factor is to have better weapons,gadgets and all other much needed facilities to be made available to our brave soldiers who are fighting our enemies day and night under extreme conditions..

Shatrughan Sinhaism
Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Sunday said the BJP cannot be held responsible for the Babri Masjid demolition because the Congress was in power at the Centre at that time.
"The Congress led by Prime Minister Narsimha Rao was in power at the Centre, so how can the BJP be held responsible for the demolition of the disputed structure," said Sinha, who was in Kanpur to canvass support for the BJP candidate from Kanpur.
What sort of a logic is this??
It was the BJP's agenda to demolish the Mosque and it was the BJP cadre who demolised it.It was a BJP Chief Minister,Mr.Kalyan Singh,who was ruling Uttar Pradesh at that time,who cheated even the Supreme Court,where he gave a commitment that he will safeguard the structure.A commitment,obviously,he did not fulfill.
To say that BJP which demolished the religious structure cannot be held responsible because there was a Congress Govt at the centre is really funny to say the least.
By this logic,hopefully Sinha will accept that the BJP should be held responsible for all the things like Kargil intrusion by pak,Parliament attack,Akshardam temple terror attack,Indian Airlines Flight hijacking,Gujarat train torching and subsequent mass genocide,etc etc..
Afterall it was the BJP-led NDA that was in power at the centre during all those incidents.
BJP should also be held responsible for lack of rain,during this period,in some parts of India which resulted in farmer suicides..!!
What about responsibility for some of Shatrughan Sinha's films that flopped during this period?? :)

pakistan wants calmness at eastern border
The US will help both countries (India & pakistan) "find a new way forward" but at the same time New Delhi "needs to look at where it is going to be in 10 years," visiting US Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman John Kerry said at a joint news conference with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
If India and Pakistan spent all their time "pointing fingers at each other and on the past", they would "never get to the future," Kerry added.
First of all Mr.Kerry must understand that India is not indulging in any finger pointing or blame game.What India is saying is based on solid facts,which even the US agrees.India has given concrete proof to the US and even FBI has credible evidence of the undeniable pak hand in almost all of the terrorist activities in India,especially the Mumbai terror attack.India says pakistan is actively infiltrating terrorists to India through the porus borders and is actively involved in terrorism in India and terror against India is one of pakistan's foreign policy paradigm.
Is this not true??
Mr.Kery should ask his own country's intelligence sources or those dealing with pakistan to know that whatever India blames pakistan for is absolutely true.
Kerry only need to look at the Kargil and Mumbai terror attack incidents..

BJP president with his new anti-terror policy
"If voted to power, the BJP government will ask Pakistan if it needs support of the Indian army to crush terrorism. If Islamabad is agreeable, it is all right. If not, our government will approach the global community for its endorsement to send the Indian Army to Pakistan," BJP President Mr.Rajnath Singh is quoted as saying in an election meeting.

If BJP comes to power,they will first of all ask pakistan,whether pakistan needs support of Indian Army to crush terrorism.
"Excuse me,Do you want the Indian Army to fight terrorism in pakistan.Any way the Indian Army is sitting idle with no work.Atleast let it be helpful to you,OK?",Advani will ask pakistan.
If pakistan agrees,then it's ok for them.Else what will happen?
Guess what..
The BJP government will approach the international community for endorsement to send the Indian Army to pakistan and will crush all the terrorists there..The Taliban,LeT,Jaish..etc all terror organizatons will be crushed..ohh...I forgot Al-qeda.....!!!

Vaiko The Traitor
"Prabhakaran lives in the hearts of Tamils. Tamils all over the world do not want even a small harm happening to him. If anything happens to him there will be a bloodbath in Tamil Nadu".This are words of MDMK leader Vaiko.
It's amazing why the NSA is not applied on him.He is a big traitor.He is threatening bloodbath in India.The reason? Sri Lankan government is trying to finish off the terror organization,LTTE.Where is India in the picture here?Sri Lanka is a sovereign nation.India and the world can only advice the Lankan government to be careful and avoid civilian causalities during the war.Nothing else.
Also as a nation facing grave terrorism threat from pak-based terror organizations,India cannot afford to show double-standards.LTTE is a banned terror organization throughout the world.LTTE killed India's former PM.We cannot afford to support the LTTE.
Sri Lankan Tamils themselves have suffered a lot from LTTE's ruthless and directionless policies.

No right thinking Tamilian will support Prabhakaran,who is responsible for the sufferings of the Tamil population in Sri Lanka.
If Mr.Vaiko is sooo concerned about Prabhakaran,he should have stayed and fought with the LTTE against Lankan troops.Numerous photos have emerged recently showing Vaiko with Prabhakaran in some LTTE camps in Sri Lanka(Photos which were shot earlier).
Vaiko should immediately leave India.To live in India with all the privileges available as a politician and blatantly threatening India is not on.Tamil Nadu is relatively peaceful.What Vaiko wants is to provoke and misguide Tamil population and create problems in Tamil Nadu,which will only result in sufferings of Tamils there.All Indians and our Tamil brothers will surely see through this sinister design of this ugly so-called politician.
Mrs.Jayalalitha whose party is in alliance with Mr.Vaiko in Tamil Nadu should rethink about the alliance.Afterall she was the person who put Vaiko in jail for his earlier pro-LTTE statements when she was the Chief Minister.
Nobody knows what's preventing Karunanidhi,the current CM,from taking strict action against Vaiko for his blatant anti-India statements.FEW VOTES??It's hoped that politicians will rise above narrow-mindedness and will think about the welfare of the country first.But then,can we expect this from our politicians...!!

Congress Party's Hall of Shame
Congress party indicated on Tuesday that it was open to review the candidatures of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, who continue to face allegations of involvement in the anti-Sikh riots.
"Congress is a large party and it takes considered decisions at appropriate time. Let us see what solutions emerge in the future," party spokesman Ashwini Kumar said at the AICC briefing held hours after the incident.
Ashwini was asked to comment whether the party would withdraw nominations to Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, a demand also made by the BJP.
In the wake of the shoe-throwing at Chidamabaram, a section of Delhi unit of Congress demanded reconsideration of candidature of Sajjan and Jagdish Tytler, both facing allegations of involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Jarnail Singh, a journalist with a Hindi newspaper, had hurled a shoe at the Home Minister as a mark of protest against the CBI clean chit to Tytler.
It's a real shame that the Congress party which attacks the BJP,day in and day out on the Gujrat massacre continues to shelter those who are involved in the anti-sikh riots.It's the height of their arrogance that Mr.Tytler and Mr.Sajjan Kumar who are accused and are not yet cleared by the courts are even considered as Lok Sabha candidates.
Even if the Congress ultimately decides against giving these two tickets,it still needed an unfortunate shoe throwing incident to do so.
And on the other hand,if they go ahead and persist with these candidates,well,the people hopefully will vote overwhemingly against them..
In all this the BJP,which was involved in communal killings in Gujrat and during Advani's rath yatra has no moral authority to comment.

In the wake of the shoe-throwing at Chidamabaram, a section of Delhi unit of Congress demanded reconsideration of candidature of Sajjan and Jagdish Tytler, both facing allegations of involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Jarnail Singh, a journalist with a Hindi newspaper, had hurled a shoe at the Home Minister as a mark of protest against the CBI clean chit to Tytler.
It's a real shame that the Congress party which attacks the BJP,day in and day out on the Gujrat massacre continues to shelter those who are involved in the anti-sikh riots.It's the height of their arrogance that Mr.Tytler and Mr.Sajjan Kumar who are accused and are not yet cleared by the courts are even considered as Lok Sabha candidates.
Even if the Congress ultimately decides against giving these two tickets,it still needed an unfortunate shoe throwing incident to do so.
And on the other hand,if they go ahead and persist with these candidates,well,the people hopefully will vote overwhemingly against them..
In all this the BJP,which was involved in communal killings in Gujrat and during Advani's rath yatra has no moral authority to comment.

Maruti Model Phase-out.Urban-Rural Descrimination?
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest car maker, will begin phasing out the two models(Maruti 800 & Omni mini-van) from 11 cities in 2010, when its products will have to meet with Euro 4 emission standards. Upgrading the two vehicles to Euro 4 standards has no merit, says chairman R.C. Bhargava.
“Making these cars Euro 4 compliant will be too costly. It’s not worthwhile,” he says.
“Both the Maruti 800 and the Omni will continue to sell in other parts of the country where Euro 4 compliance is not mandatory. And because both models enjoy strong demand in rural and semi-urban markets, sales may not take too big a hit,” Bhargava says.
Mr.Bhargava's views seem interesting.He indicates that the cars which are not upto Euro 4 emission standards,will continue to be sold in other parts of the country where Euro 4 compliance is not mandatory.Well,what kind of a logic is this.First of all,why a certain standard is set for cities and a relaxation allowed in rural areas.Doesn't this a clear case of double standards??If the two models are not complying with standards and if there is a plan to phase out them,an urban-rural descrimination is ill-advised.
Any way let's hope Euro 4 emission standards will be made mandatory to the whole of India,at the earliest.

Ram Navmi celebrated in Kashmir
Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Ram was celebrated in the Kashmir Valley. Scores of devotees including a large number of Muslims and Sikhs also participated in the celebrations at the Ram Ji Mandir at Barbarshah.
Hindu Welfare Society (HWS), a body of non-migrant pandit thanked Muslims on the occasion for their cooperation.
HWS said that they celebrated the Ramnavmi as Hindu- Muslim- Sikh unity and held prayer meetings for peace in the world particularly for the state of Jammu Kashmir.
“Today we celebrated the festival with the members of other communities. Our aim was to strengthen the bond of love, respect and communal harmony among the Kashmiris who have suffered a lot in the turmoil,” said HWS.
The Society said that it wishes the religious brotherhood of the Kashmir stands all the odds as the Valley is the abode of Reshis and Sufis who devoted their lives for the mankind. HWS thanked the majority community for supporting the Kashmiri non migrant Pandits over the years.
Demanding minority status, employment for the educated Pandit youth and their rehabilitation, HWS said that the government should address the problems faced by the community on humanitarian grounds.

Dowry killing in India
The daughter of a Delhi Police sub-inspector was allegedly burnt alive by her in-laws in Ghaziabad Thursday for not getting dowry, her family members said. The police are investigating the case.
Babli, 26, daughter of Delhi Police sub-inspector Atar Singh - was married to Dev Raj on June 18, 2004. While Atar Singh's family stayed at Indirapuri colony in Loni, Dev Raj lived at Balramnagar in the same area.
On Thursday morning, the police were informed that Babli was lying dead in her husband's house with extensive burns. Babli's parents were also informed and reached the spot.
Babli's husband and in-laws were missing from the house when the police reached.
Babli's brother Rishi Raj said his sister was constantly harassed by her in-laws for dowry.
He said Babli had been turned out of her husband's house many times in the past to bring money and various articles from her father. She had called her father Wednesday night and told him that her in-laws were conspiring to kill her, he said.
Babli's father filed a complaint at the Loni police station but the police were yet to register a case till Thursday night.
However, senior officials assured the family and media that the police were taking action.
"We are looking out for the girl's husband and his family. They would be taken to task. The matter is under investigation," Anant Dev, the superintendent of police (city), said.

Dowry is very shameful which is a very rampant ritual in most of the states in India.India can never claim to be a progressive Nation,when we still have such utopian activities going on in our society.Frankly,I never understood the need for a dowry.There is need for aggressive campaigns against this evil.It's better if a law is there banning this,with strict punishment for those who demand dowry.
To kill innocent girls just for a few more bucks..
Those who does this should be awarded the death penality,nothing less..
The specific case mentioned here is shocking as well as amazing.Even the life of a daughter of a police officer is not spared,so what to think of ordinary citizens..

Dr.Manmohan Singh,American Presidents and "India Loves U"
It seems our PM believes that who ever is the American president,people of India dearly love him.He earlier told the then American president George Bush that all of India deeply love him,which created controversy in India.
Now today it's being reported that Manmohan Singh told the current US president Barack Obama that "you are much loved and respected in India".
Ofcourse,Indians I suppose will surely be more fond of Obama than Bush,because of his personality and charisma and the interest he has generated the world over with his dynamic speeches and promises of change in US approach and policies towards the world.
Bush did sign the nuclear deal with India which will allow India to do nuclear business.But Bush presidency will be remembered more for his flawed policies in Iraq and his wrong strategies in Afganistan.It's a fact that the Muslim community the world over absolutely hated him and I don't think the opinion of Indian Muslims were different.
Surely the whole of India never loved him,not after he and his team blatantly lied to the world community about the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq,which was cited as the reason to attack Iraq(The so-called weapons of mass destruction were never found,because there existed no such thing in Iraq).
Now coming back to the topic of Dr.Manmohan Singh praising Obama,it's too early.Obama just started.No one knows for certain what his policies will be.So let's wait.As far as our PM is concerned,it's better if he stops this "India loves you" theme music.The basic question is,was a poll conducted in India? How can Manmohan Singh say India loves so and so,what's the evidence of that love? Sure,in diplomacy sweet words are needed,but to say repeatedly to world leaders that "India loves you",is absurd..
