Any one who read today's newspaper would have seen an article about
the "self-styled-having-righteous-views-on-all-matters-relating-to-India" Arundhati Roy's views about Kashmir...
Just not sure what she is upto, with her constant India baiting. It’s a real shame that such persons are born in our mother-land and what's more she is regarded as an activist by sections of the media and they gave her prominent coverage. And to constantly stay in limelight she comes up with anti-India statements each time. Whatever her earlier bad comments about India, her latest comments about partitioning India crosses all leves of tolerance. Just can't understand, who is she to make such outrageous comments .Is winning Booker prize a license to say anything ?If she hates India so much, the minimum she can do to Indians is to get the hell out of this Country. It’s incredible that,a so called thinker,writer,human-rights champion cannot visualize the terrible consequences that might follow if Kashmir is ever separated from India. This only goes on to show that her interest is to stay in the limelight of the global media.
See below some of her outrageous comments..
1) Kashmir needs freedom from India: Arundhati Roy
Activist and author Arundhati Roy said that the people of Kashmir have made themselves abundantly clear.
“And if no one is listening then it is because they don't want to hear. Because this is a referendum. People don't need anyone to represent them; they are representing themselves. As somebody who has followed people's movements and who has been in rallies and at the heart or the edge of things, I don't think you can dispute what you see here,”
Roy also said that “since the 1930s, there have been debates and disputes about who has the right to represent the Kashmiri people, whether it was Hari Singh or Sheikh Abdullah or someone else. And the debate continues till today whether it is the Hurriyat or some other party.”
Then she added, “But I think today the people have represented themselves.”
Roy concluded with words, “India needs azadi from Kashmir as much as Kashmir needs azadi from India.”
What is arundhati thinking..??Which referendum she is talking about? Is she borrowing her words from another traitor Syed AliShah Gilani?
Does she think Kashmir can stay as an independent country? Is she not having the minimum common sense to think that Pakistan will swiftly move-in and control Kashmir and make it another disastrous POK out of it?
And pakistan will think of this as a victory and as already proclaimed by their terrorist organization LeT,they will concentrate their terrorists on Hyderabad and other Muslim majority areas of India...Will she then say, give freedom to Hyderabad?? Does arundhati think that the people of pakistan and POk have more freedom, democracy than what's enjoyed by Kashmiris right now?? Here people are allowed to protest as they do in other parts of the Country, if they need to raise issues...Does she know how the govt of pakistan dealt with protestors in Baluchistan...People there were subjected to firing from tanks and helicopter gun ships...
If she wants to be adorned as a global human rights activist, why is she not uttering a word about those??
Now read another of her anti-India statement made some time back:-
2) India not democratic: Arundhati Roy
NEW YORK, MAY 22: In an explosive expression of her views, celebrated Indian writer Arundhati Roy told an audience here that ‘‘India is not a democratic country’’. ‘‘The biggest PR myth of all times is that India is a democracy. In reality, it is not,’’ Roy, the author of The God of Small Things told the 1,000-strong audience at a book reading function she attended along with Eduardo Galeano, one of Latin America’s most distinguished writers. With her aggressive speech, Roy, the 1997 Booker winner, dominated the event with Galeano playing second fiddle. She surprised the jam-packed Town Hall as she stopped reading The God of Small Things midway and said she wanted to speak on an issue, which had been bothering her for quite some time.
She said she was confused, as India was passing through a terrible time. Amidst frequent clapping, she blasted the Indian government and the Bush administration. She did not spare even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. ‘‘There is no real democracy in India. Several states in India are on the verge of civil war,’’ she said.
Challenging the much-acclaimed views of columnist Thomson Friedman praising India, a democracy of a billion population, for conducting peaceful elections year after year, she said, ‘‘He probably needs a new tour of India... Does Thomas know that in Kashmir Valley alone, some 80,000 people have been killed? In Iraq, there are 1, 50,000 military personnel, whereas in Kashmir Valley there are some 7, 00,000.’’
Referring to the visit of President George Bush to New Delhi in March, she said, without elaborating: ‘‘Bush visit was the most humiliating experience of my life.’’ As the venue for Bush’s address changed from Parliament to Vigyan Bhawan to Metro Park, he finally ended up addressing India from a Zoo. ‘‘I am not joking. This is reality and the giraffes were disappointed,’’ she said amidst laughter from the audience. She did not agree with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s views in his lecture at the Oxford University praising Britain for all the good things that India has, like its democracy, judiciary and bureaucracy. India, she said, was a free market meant to steal from the poor and subsidize the rich.
The audience gave her a standing ovation.
The above mentioned 2 instances are just 2 of the many anti-India statements of this self-styled celebrity.
I hope the people of this great country, who still love their motherland and who are agonized by these comments would be able to see a Strong LEADER, soon, who got the guts to throw out people like her out of this Great Country. It’s a humble opinion that we Indians don't need people like her or Syed Shah Geelani (who incidentally said the same day that he is a pakistani) in India, who enjoy all luxuries of being the citizen of this Country and supports our enemies.
INDIA already got a lot of enemies outside and inside. We don't need a self-styled VIP traitor who indulges in horrible anti-India statements day in and day out through the media.
