Two girls studying engineering suffered serious burns when two unidentified men poured acid on them outside the premises of their institute on the outskirts of Warangal on Wednesday.
The final year EEE (electronics and electrical engineering) students — K Swapnika and Pranitha — of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS) were returning home from the college on their TVS Scooty when the attackers came on a motorbike, poured acid on them and fled from the spot.
Swapnika, riding pillion, sustained above 40 per cent burns. The acid ran through the ‘chunni’ covering Swapnika’s face, damaged both her eyes and left burns down her left cheek and shoulder. She was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad later in the night.
The men squirted the acid from water bottles onto the girls and sped away, said witnesses to the incident, who immediately alerted staff of 108 emergency services. “They didn’t say anything. They just stopped the motorbike and one of the guys threw acid on them and went away,” a passer-by said.
Pranitha, admitted to Rohini Hospital, suffered burns on her shoulders and hands but her face was saved as she was wearing a helmet at the time of the attack. Pranitha’s father T Kantha Rao is an engineer and her family resides at in Hanamkonda.

Why human beings do some thing like this?
Probably because they are not human beings.They don't deserve to be called so.
It's tragic that wild animals like those who did such horrible acts like throwing acid at girls are living amongst our midst.It's difficult to understand the mentality of such 'pathetic cowards'.They are pure sadists.Did they think about their parents before doing some thing as horrible as this,will they be proud of this?
The culprits atleast in this case should be severely punished so that nobody ever dares to repeat this.
Let's hope and pray that these 2 girls come out of this situation both physically and mentally sound and stronger.

India raises Mumbai terror at UN and pakistan's response
MoS for foreign affairs of India E.Ahmed had said at the UN Security Council that "All those who were in any way responsible for the Mumbai terrorist attacks, wherever they may be, should be brought to justice," he said.
Mr Ahamed said India had acted "with restraint in the face of terrorist attacks", but it might be compelled to take action in future.
"We must do our duty to our people and take all actions as we deem fit to defend and protect them," he said.
"The charter of the United Nations and provisions of international law, including the right of self defence, gives us the framework to fulfil these responsibilities."
Pakistan's UN ambassador Abdullah Hussain Haroon said that he was "a little surprised" at the force of the statement by the Indian minister.
He said India and Pakistan should "stop all negative campaigns against each other".
Mr Haroon said Pakistan was ready to cooperate with India in the investigation of the attacks.
"Not only are the terrorists not linked to Pakistan in any way, we too are their targets and we too continue to be their victims," he told the council.
Great comedy or an attempt at comedy by the pakis ambassador?? He says the terrorists are not linked to pakistan in any way..

Every media throughout the world is reporting more and more credible evidences against pakistan,and these reports are not given to them by Indians.It's a British newspaper which traced and identified the captured terrorists' village and parents in pakistan,there by clearly verifying that he indeed is a pakistani,if there was anybody who had that doubt.All the other terrorists killed during the Mumbai attack are also identified as pakistanis.There are evidences galore like the phone call records,items carried by the terrorists,pak made guns they used etc.
And even western media and intelligence sources are saying that the sort of attack that was carried out means that the terrorists were well trained in commando and marine activities.
It's a very well known fact that pak spy agency ISI created LeT and actively trains and funds all terror activities against India and recently terror activities around the world.There was clear evidence with the US government on the masterminding of the suicide bombing infront of the Indian embassy at kabul by the ISI,which killed about 60 people.Terrorists camps operate freely and members of terror organizations addresses rallies and openly raise funds in most of the pakistan cities.
And this fool Abdullah Hussain Haroon is saying pakistan is no way involved...!!!
Are all pakis living in a fool's paradise,like this fellow ??
Do they think that they can fool every body every time??
Or are they sooooooooo foolish that they think if they say things like this in spite of all the mountain of evidences against them,they will be believed???

Pele has no respect from footballers: Maradona
"The biggest and main difference between Pele and Maradona is I have the respect of all footballers, which Pele does not have. Pele is a friend of those who manages football. I am not friends with them. I am with the players," Diego Armando Maradona told a private TV channel Kolkata TV, on the last day of his two-day trip to India on Sunday.
It's really sad that Maradona said this.He was a great player and hope he shows some respect to Pele who was an equally great player.Maradona is a gift of God for the game of Football.He should not tarnish others.There is no need for it.Infact,by saying things like this,he is diminishing his own God like image among football fans.He has a great fan following in India and it would have been better if his first visit to India was non-controversial.
